what would cause this?

i took it to a shop and they replaced the master/slave cylinder SS clutch line, and installed a ACT 2600.

the car would pop out of gear only under back load in 1st gear. but now they are saying it does it in all gears. what would cause this??

thanks alot guys

I would check the cable bracket at the top of the tranny. If those bolts are loose the cables will not be able to engage the gear fully and can cause issues with it popping out.

oh, i asked them about that and they said that they didn't touch it when they did the install.

hmm they said something about it probably is a failed main bearing.... i dont know...

i have a feeling its going to cost alot of money that idont have LOL

If it pops out of 1/2 then it could be a bad intermediate shaft bearing. 3/4 and bad input shaft bearing. If it does it on all gears, you have a shift linkage issue IMO.

oh, i see is there any kind of internal shift linkage?
or just external

Thanks alot!

I would say it could be external as in cables, brackets, bushings, etc...

thatmakes sence, i have not drove it yet, the shop was suppose to drive it to me. and i guess they got like 20miles away and then it just happened. so i dont know

Jack knows what he is talking about, I would make sure the linkage is tight and secure at the tranny then make sure the adjustment under the shifter is ok.

yea i know he does,

i told the shop to check that and they said that to do the clutch install they didn't need to touch any of that :/

and they were driveing the car about 20 miles then it happened.

idk

thanks though!

also when i get the car gback, if its still f'ed up i told them to leave the tranny out of the car. is there a way to tell if it is messed up(with it out of the car)? that is not alot of work
