I only have experience with the D2 coilovers out of the previously mentioned ones. I have sold many sets of the D2 fwd coilovers and the spring rate is almost perfect for most people driving on the street. If you need a little stiffer when you go to the track you can preload the spring a little bit. They are by no means a "soft ride" though. They are a little stiffer than stock.
