i think he will be fine, i did an all motor build a while back that the customer did not finish but it won the dyno day at NHRA two years back (check website for verification) and after shaving the head 12.5:1 JE's the comp was around the 13.1 to 13.5 range ( all math done by a machine shop and compression gauge read around 280 to 300 on all cylinders after it was done and broke in) it also has crower stage 3's in it and had no problems, one of the cams even broke on the setup and caused the belt to break and barely i mean BARELY bent two valves. just an fyi.
the car made 166whp but nhra put 162 because they dont know how to type or some shit, this was with no tuning and AF's in the low 10s to high high 9s.
