Ebay Intercooler??

Theres no link or pics... What happened did i miss something? Also i have an ebay ssac. and i would say its a wonderful intercooler. very efficient

I used an eBay core and piping with minor mods and was fine. I'm not sure I'd run them with any serious power behind it, I'd probably step up to a better kit at that point.

Im sure this is a stupid question but "heat soak it"?? What is that?

And if you guys have a link to what ebay intercooler your using that would be much appreicated

Heat soak is when your intercooler can no longer efficiently cool the hot air that is being thrown out from the turbo; which means that the air reaaching the engine is not being cooled like its suppose to be.

Just try to find a decent bar and plate design. You can get a godspeed kit for cheap and they almost bolt right up. Almost every ebay kit though is cut and fit. I've had no problems with my piping kit, I paid $100 for pipes and couplers and used a core a buddy traded to me. Working flawless. Or you can go with this kit which seems cheap and reputable

X2 on the VRSPEED FMIC. It is easy to install and has been proven to be very efficient.

I used that same kit on my 97 but when I bought it it was under 200 shipped. The kit is great in my opinion, the only problems are the junk clamps that are included.

The core is decent and rather robust took quite a beating the 2yrs it was on the car when I owned it and Im friends with the guy I sold the car to and its still looking decent.

By the way it was a 16g car on 20psi never had an overheating or heat soak issue like my stock side mount had.

I've run an ebay fmic for 2 years in my 93 tsi. Very strong, good welded and no problem with it but now I've just order an vrsf fmic for the short route design.

I am currently running an eBay bar and plate intercooler. It gets the job done with my current set up, but when I upgrade turbos, I do plan on running a thicker core. All in all, for a bolt on set up I believe they do their job pretty well.

Ebay cores are fine. I run 10s with one and have 80 degree F iats at end of track with 60F ambient. Good enough for me.

If you guys know of other intercoolers that are decently priced please put a link up. This one is pretty cheap but i dont know if i like how much piping there is.

What mods would you say to have done before getting a FMIC too??

I'm pretty sure I'm running one now. The guy I bought it from wouldn't really elaborate on what kind it was. Hasn't failed me yet.

Im considering getting the same kit but a few people told my you have to cut and weld. What is it Im going to be cutting and welding?

I own and am currently running that EXACT kit. It works good, pretty nice size, looks great, and provided more then enough for the price. I did have a couple problems

1. The piping is a little weird, the upper piping/couplers that comes from the outlet is awkward and if not done correctly can makes your bumper "bulge" out, even leak since the angles are so weird.

2. I did not receive and brackets to hold the bumper up. There was two little flimsy things with bolt holes that could not be considered brackets. I made my own and it sits perfect now.

I'd say A- for the price !!!
