Hey all, I recently replaced my clutch, ppm, and tb on a back yard tsi rescue. When I try to launch hard I feel that the clutch isnt grabbing properly. At low rims it runs like a charm, but when I go rough on it.. it feels like it won't stick properly. . Any help, also.. I saw that the clutch pedal is all the way out and adjusting it from under the dash is a pain in the ass. Any tips. I'm hoping that'll solve my problem.
 
Could be clutch slippage. That could mean you have too much power for clutch, oil or something else on flywheel or maybe flywheel height is off. Back when I was on stock clutch and a lot of power it felt like it just stopped in the middle of a pull.
 
Pretty much a stock clutch. Being honest. I bought this car not running from a kid who bought it from the old owner but when he saw the back fees he sold it to me for 400. He had no idea what was done to the car. All I've seen is the timing was bumped up. I'm clueless tbh
 
You should spend some time figuring out what parts you have on the car. It just sounds like the clutch is slipping and won't handle that power level. Maybe someone else would have a better idea.
 
Update : I got ahold of a scanner to pull the codes but my diagnostic port won't connect. All the fuses seem to be fine. I quickly then thru them.. the old owner made a mess under the dash.. any tips where to go fromyself here?..
 
8psi of boost with pretty much any turbo isn't usually enough for insane clutch slippage. One thing I noticed is the stock wastegate pressure for most turbos is 12psi, so I would definitely check for boost leaks. If you have leaks your probably running rich and fouling your spark plugs. As for your clutch, it doesn't seem like your cruising in a 450+ HP street demon so your clutch slipping could be any thing from improper clutch installation, low fluid level (ask me how I know) , and your right your clutch pedal may need to be adjusted. I dont personally know how to adjust the clutch pedal but I'm sure if you search you'll find something. Best of luck,

Bleed the clutch system to ensure there's no air. 1g dsms are known for the clutch pedal to have play due to the bearings going out. Press the pedal down with your hand and let it come back up by itself. If u can pull it up by hand a little more then it's time to rebuild the clutch pedal. Not saying this is your issue but worth looking into. It does have an effect on engagement.
