  2. High Compression Pistons

The car won't be a daily driver by any means. I'm planning on gutting and caging it first off. It will be driven to the track and a bit of street usage on the weekends.I've been trying to decide myself between 10.5:1 or maybe even higher like 12:1. I would obviously have to pull the timing...
  3. High Compression Pistons

I am running Eagle rods and Wiseco 8.5:1 pistons on my GS-T. I'm not looking to do the same build again. I'm pretty set on aluminum rods as well as this car will not be a daily driver by any means. If I have to run race fuel the majority of the time then so be it. Also, when I say high boost I...
  4. High Compression Pistons

I'm planning on building a motor for another project of mine. It will be a weekend/track car. Looking to stay 2.0 and rev high. I have searched but not found much info on high compression pistons. I don't have E85 in my area so this will be a pump gas/race gas car. Low timing, high boost.I...
  5. am i getin scammed

Oh if this were only half true. If the money is in your Paypal account they can reverse the charge and get their money back cleared or not. Its only safe if it is in your bank account. If you have credit cards linked to Paypal they can charge those for the amount being reversed. Paypal is dirty...
  6. HX40 19cm2 housing??

My 19cm2 T4 twin scroll housing build is mostly done and running. I've been working 6 days a week so I've had no time to finish things up and tune it. First impressions are great though. As soon as I get a chance to finish the conversion to speed density and get a new clutch master cylinder I...
  7. Knoxville Dsm Meet 09'

I've seen friends of mine pulled over and ticketed for a tire TOUCHING a line on the road, not speeding or anything else.
  8. Knoxville Dsm Meet 09'

The Gap is an incredibly fun drive when there isn't a State Trooper every quarter mile.
  9. Going with Holset - Help with turbine housing

toofast82, I hope to have some logs to post up soon. Working out a couple of kinks at the moment with some other stuff.
  10. Going with Holset - Help with turbine housing

The majority of them come with twin scroll housings stock. As for going t3 or t4 thats up to you and your goals. I myself just finished up my HX40 t4 19cm/2 build and am loving it. The top end pulls all the way to redline and just never stops.
  11. Knoxville Dsm Meet 09'

Where exactly have you been meeting? I live in Cleveland and might drive up some weekend.
  12. I just got PARTS!

Looks like me buying your HX40 funded some of that, lol.
  13. Dumbest things you've heard a DSMer say? :)

I really don't know. You should have seen the look on his face. He was so serious!
  14. Dumbest things you've heard a DSMer say? :)

I had my hood up once showing a friend my car out in town. A guy walks up and says "Turbo car isn't it?" I say "Yeah, sure is." Without skipping a beat he points at my 2g MAS and says "Looks like a good sized turbo you got on here, make sure you got enough back pressure so you don't blow the heads."
  15. Beware Home Depot Scam!!!!!!!!

Where is this scam happening? This is relevant to my interests!
  16. Velocity Stack

I have seen a couple of those already. The one this guy had fit the HX40 perfectly. It slid right over the compressor inlet, no coupler or clamps in between.
  17. Velocity Stack

A little while back, someone had a velocity stack on a HX40 listed in the classified section. I PM'd him about it but he never answered me back. It fit perfectly on the turbo and I have not been able to find one like it anywhere online. I wish I had saved the picture... Does anyone know of ones...
  18. Holset Turbos, PART 6

A little while back, someone had a velocity stack on a HX40 listed in the classified section. I PM'd him about it but he never answered me back. It fit perfectly on the turbo and I have not been able to find one like it anywhere online. I wish I had saved the picture... Does anyone know of ones...
  19. Holset Turbos, PART 6

After I get the car running again a smim will be my next upgrade. I still have not decided which to go with though. Looking at the JMF Drag.RPM wise I will probably be taking it to 8-8.5k tops.
  20. Holset Turbos, PART 6

I will be running 2.0, stock intake manifold, and BC 280's with link v3 running speed density by the way.
  21. Holset Turbos, PART 6

I will be running the stock 19cm2 t4 housing here very soon actually. I should have some logs up within a week or two hopefully.
  22. Holset Turbos, PART 6

Hmm, to answer my own post above I think I may have found the proper clamps and flange for the HX40 at this site:Holset Clamps and Flanges
  23. Holset Turbos, PART 6

I am currently putting together a twin scroll t4 6 blade HX40 build. I am trying to figure out what to do with the exhaust... After much searching of this forum and many others, including turbo diesel forums I am no closer to an answer. I need to know if the 4" v-band off the stock Holset...
  24. 1G AEM EMS?

You won't regret buying DSMLink. I can promise you that.
  25. 16g upgrade car died when press on gas

Do a boost leak test and check for any plugs that are not connected properly such as your MAF.
  26. Godspeed struts

Ride quality on cheap coilovers is terrible. If you go that route you may want to save for a chiropractor.
  27. new dsm mlink

I also just noticed if you buy a new DSMLink package from them they offer a very nice discount on the conversion service. Link really is worth every penny even if you buy an EPROM. The forum access is worth it by itself.
  28. new dsm mlink

This is about your only option since you are 1g and don't want to have to buy an EPROM.EPROM Conversion
  29. Worth swapping?

If you can save up and pick up a GSX you will never regret it.
  30. aeromotive afpr

With the 255 you need the AFPR or you risk overrunning the stock regulator.
  31. When purchasing DSMlink they ask for injector size, what if i will be changing soon..

The v2 2g link packages will most definitely lose all settings upon loss of battery power.
  32. Decal Placement

Thieves would be disappointed if they went by that in my town...lol.
  33. wideband reliable w/ open dump during boost?

Makes me wonder though, could it change the reading?
  34. injector size

What other fuel mods do you have?
  35. 1G AEM EMS?

The OEM MAF can't handle positive pressure if I remember correctly.
  36. My Build *Pics*

That is a sexy beast. We demand videos of it in action asap!
  37. hx-35 or 60-1??

There is a wealth of information is the Holset threads:Holset Turbos Part 6Holset Results Complete Installed SystemsI myself am putting together a twin scroll t4 hx40 build at the moment.
  38. 1G AEM EMS?

Between here and the DSMLink forums every possible question has probably been answered.
  39. act clutch

These are not Hondas....we don't use stages. It always annoys me when I am at Autozone and some kid walks up out of the 5" tach and underglow isle to ask me what stage my car is.
  40. [RESOLVED] Should I get a logger?

We don't need no stoplights! Ya hear?!
  41. 1G AEM EMS?

You can pick up a good solid EPROM ECU for way less than $500.EPROM ECU from FFWDEPROM ECU from ECMLINKThere are also some EPROMS floating around on the bay.
  42. My Build *Pics*

What are your goals for the car once it is running?
  43. [RESOLVED] Should I get a logger?

Pick up a logger of some type asap.
  44. 1G AEM EMS?

DSMLink all the way with a good rebuilt ECU. There is a learning curve either way with AEM or DSMLink, its just not as steep with Link. Plus Link has an excellent user support forum to get you going and help you out if need be.
  45. Spw Gauges

I would go with some quality gauges like Autometer or AEM. The Prosports are pretty decent as well it seems. No point in having a gauge that "might" be right.
  46. Snapped t-belt @2k 35mph after engine washing, 107k 2g 7b

Cheap and reliable? I want to know where to buy those parts!
  47. My Build *Pics*

+1 for posting a list in this thread. I really want to know what is inside. Turbo specs would be nice as well. Hell, give us a whole run down!
  48. Best Spring & Retainer Kit to use

262/272's will work perfectly fine for you but I would honestly go ahead and drop in 272/272's. Both are very streetable and will net you a better powerband.
  49. On my way to my 300 whp DD

Yeah that one looks pretty nice. Wish they had a picture of it on a 2g though. I had a friend roll a spyder without a bar. He made it. It took a while to recover though and he won't ride in a convertible anymore.
  50. On my way to my 300 whp DD

I would definitely do the roll bar while you are at it. Safety is priceless.
