When i had the PR setup on my last car, I used to get a lot of compressor surge. As soon as i removed one of the springs problem solved. Also i did a boost leak test with the knock off on there and it held like a champ :thumb:. Kinda funny i just BL tested my new talon and that sorry plastic bov...

Its funny you mention that because so many cars over here have BBS wheels. I know stateside they are expensive. :hmm: Might be something to consider for the summer.

Thanks i figured for $50 bux I couldn't make it look any worse.At first i considered buying an audi or bimmer while i was out here. The thing is when you get it back stateside i would still end up getting taxed pretty good. Not to mention the American dollar is worth less over here so there...

Truthfully ive own the car for 2 years and im not sure when the timing belt was done. It sat for a year while i was deployed. Everything looked in great shape when i bought it, but i think i should replace it anyway. Who knows when the last time its been done.I just had my buddy come over...

Its definately not floppy nor does it sag when observing it. When i slighty press and lift there is deflection, but i dont have to apply hardly any force.Hey if this is normal then great! I just want to be on the safe side.

I had the same issue but my B&M was causing my tranny linkage to hit my Punishment intercooler piping. It was like it was overthrowing. After a few quick adjustments to the piping ive never had any other problems even on the shortest B&M setting. :thumb:

Yeah i can pretty much move it about a 1/4 inch up and down with a finger or two.

I checked in my chiltons and haynes manuals but i havent quite gotten an answer.Today i changed my valve cover gasket and i noticed that there is slack in my timing belt in the area between the cam gears. Its not a crazy amount but i can push it down about 1/8 to 1/4 inch or so. Im not sure...

In my original post I stated that this happens about once mabey twice a week.

But the sound is not random its a very set pace then rapid and back and fourth. It sounds like some kind of electric motor.Its sounds nothing like the ticking of a car cooling down

Originally I was concerned that it was causing my starting issues. Now I just would like to knpw what it is. I will try to pin point the sound after work. Thanls for the fast replies! :thumb:

Thanks, I will check it today at work.I will try it as soon as it makes the noise again. I havent even considered that fact that theinfrequent rough starts might have nothing to do with the sound at all.:hmm:

Thanks i will test it :thumb: but the car doesn't have any on the usual issues associated with the isc going bad. Also this only happens about once a week or less. Other than that the car idles and runs fine every day. :confused:

About 5 to 10 min after i shut my 96 GSX off it makes a slow, deliberate tapping sound for about 30 sec. Then it gets very rapid, similar like an electric motor or small air compressor, for a few seconds and stops. A minute later it goes thru this cycle again and this goes on for about 20 mins...

SPC Waters, and ive been in almost 3 years. I am a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic. I am CURRENTLY in IRAQ on day number 362!!! I cant wait to get home and start working on my 96 GSX! I've got a mountain of parts waiting to be installed! Its gonna be like christmas when i get home!!:hellyeah:

+1 Possibly start a build budget, but dont just let money burn a hole in your pocket.

My winter dd's are an 04 2wd Chevy trailblazer w/ K&N 57 series and a few other goodies. Also I have an 08 Honda Ridgeline (THE ONLY HONDA I WOULD EVER BE CAUGHT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) :thumb:Now that I think about it I drive my GSX more than all of them :D. LOL

Change your fuel filter. its cheap insurance. Flush your cooling system. I would also suggest checking or changing the diff, transfer case, and tranny fluids with quality Redline products. :thumb:

5800 almost a year ago for my 96 gsx. Bought it in Colorado Springs unmodded in perfect shape. Just needs a lil TLC on the paint. :thumb:

Does the 2gb hang lower than the 2ga?

This setup looks sick man, especially the head lights :hellyeah: I hope i get a chance to check it out when I get back to the Springs from deployment in march. Gives me some good ideas for what I want to do when i do my 2gb front end conversion to my GSX! :thumb:

Can you use a modified bumper support with the PR kit, or is the core to big?
