I've had Megans w/pillowball tops for 3 years now. DD-about 50 milies/day 4 days/wk with weekend road race 2days/month for 3-4 months/year.Very stiff, but slot car performance.
I bought and installed Megans a couple of years ago on my DD for $900.I drive in NASA 2 track days a month for 6-7 months. I think they are excellent for the price. They are rough on the street, but That's OK with me. The only problem I've had is the left tube sometimes unscrews a bit.
The Suspension Techniques I bought a couple of years ago (just the rear) connects with heim joints and has 3 adjustable points. My memory may be wrong, but I believe I bought them for about $160 and it was from Cardomain.
Definately sway bars. I bought the Suspension Techniques rear bar for my 1g. I don't know how it compares with the RM one, but it was much cheaper and excellent quality.
Looks very good. I have a 93 and I really like those Aerocatch. I put those on my Seibon. They do take some time to do it right. I also cut some thin stock aluminum backing plate to put on the bottom side of the hood. I didn't like the idea of just the hood providing the strength for the...
I was looking for the locking rings. Some of mine are pretty beat up, but I was hoping there would be some place or company that would sell these and other parts besides Megan. It would be real expensive to have to buy a whole new set.Not even sure if Megan sells these.
It's been a long time, long time since I've been in the Marines, but back during Viet Nam you could not get a guarantee. The only time I got a chance to choose a "field of oppurtunity" was in boot camp. It was referred to as "The dream sheet", because you only got to dream about what you...
Congratulations. Of course we all do dumb things among them is lying, even pators, but it's good you admitted it, especially being interviewed for that "particular" liscense,
What faith or denomination are you?
We did in Colorado at the Chumpcar Challenge, but it was with a 91 TSI. It was happening when the fuel got low enough in I believe, left turns. The pick-up tube would come uncovered by fuel moving to the side of the tank
.
They would have to momentarilly straighten the whell to get fuel back...
I run Trak lite 2 17x8 w/45 offset. I also have Megan coil overs with pretty stiff springs. I don't know the spring rate...whatever comes with them.My racing tire size is 235x40x17. I have it lowered a little bit...did not measure. It only rubs a little on the inside when I turn the wheel to...
2slow4now is correct in everything. One additional thing about synthetics causing leaks...not only are they "slicker" they also have high detergents...no not Tide. The detergents,on older cars that have had leaks that eventually sealed up because of dirt, sludge, can clean that sludge away...
I also use Amsoil's Manual Transmission and Transaxel Gear Lube 75w-90 that is linked above and here AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic and Manual Transmission FluidI had took my trans to Jack's 2 years ago to have him take a look at a noise in the trans which turned out to be a bad bearing on the...
It is header if there is one, headers if more than 1 such as for a V6 or V8.The other header also has no flex pipe. I believe that is the way they are designed. The tab that broke is just a mounting tab to bolt to the engine. It has caused no problem whatsoever. I have had these for...
This is the one I bought over 2 years ago. 2 problems I had were:
The welded on tab at the bottom where it makes the turn to go under the car broke...no biggie.
The gasket fron the manifold to the down pipe blew out...not to much of a biggie except you can't buy them from a local parts dealer...
ANdrew, I think the only person from DSMtuners other than you and I that make it to the tracks you mentioned Is Chris and he hasn't raced in the last 2 years, I believe.
And when have you heard of a test by an independent lab not paid for by the company who has something to prove.Just because it was paid for by the company, does not mean it is biased toward them and it doesn't mean it is against them. It could be either way.You need to look at the tests...
Thanks guys. I knew I'd get some good info here, since Marti at SBR would never give me any.I did order the 4 piece kit, but was never told it was only for AWD. Some more poor customer service from SBR.
I have searched but could not find an answer.I have the Avid aliminum engine mounts for the 1g. I can not figure out how the front one mounts.I have emailed Marti at SBR for the last 2 months to find out how this is bolted to the front crossmember, that goes from the front to the rear...
Can you route this hose to the catch can so oil mist goes there whether N/T or turbo? If you route the hose from the PCV into the catch can, how is the pressure from the crankcase relieved?
If the crankcase pressure is not relieved does this prevent good ring sealing (again...for N/T or turbo)?
Let me test to see if my understanding is correct. I have a 93 N/T (which will soon be turbo'd).I run a hose from the PCV on the VC to the catch can and then a hose from the catch can to the intake manifold. Correct? What about the hose from the VC to the intake hose(couldn't think of...
Yep, get that leak detector kit. It works. The one I have is made by Interdynamics.
I believe you can get then at Walmart also.I used an Interdynamics kit for converting to R134- includes the oil. Did it 2 years ago and it blows cool enough that sometimes I have to turn the A/C down low or off.
I bought Megan's 1.5 years ago for my DD that I track w/NASAThe ride is rough, but they sure corner great on the track and on/off ramps.Bought them from VIP Racing which has now combined w/SBR.
Whatcha ya wanna do? DD, track, strip, off or on ramps? My DD has Megan coilovers ( for 2 years now ), because I do track with NASA in HPDE 3. I crner like I'm on rails, but it rides like a BIG truck on the street.I'm willing to tolerate that.
