Hi! I just purchased a 94 gsx. I've been mainly in the VW/Audi world my of my car life and just left the mk3 supra world. Just wanted to say hi

Bone stock with 117k on it. Hopefully I can restrain and keep it close to stock as long as possible. Last owner had it since 98. So the goals so far is just to get everything maintained and in check

Just gave it a little tune up and changed the VC gasket and waiting on new axles to swap out later this week.

Also just redid the headliner since the old stuff was falling apart

Welcome, and good luck with your find. I'd do a complete belt - both timing and balance - on this motor first hand though if you're planning on keeping it bone stock.

Being the 7bolt motor, best check into the thrust bearings which heads towards the dreaded crankwalk issue, but if you're lucky in this area, do the best from using the clutch excessively - like be in neutral at the light and similar.

Some 7 bolt users will bypass the clutch safety switch so the motor can be started without dumping the clutch thus saving the pressure load on the crank thrust bearings when depressing the clutch pedal.

Welcome and good luck - DSM

I had an mk3 supra also, traded it for my dsm an never thought twice about it an I disconnected my clutch switch but crankwalk is so misdiagnosed an over worried about if your motor hasn't done it in the 114k miles it proally won't now, if it was gonna happen it would have

Sorry 117k

I know. I feel like I always like the weird cars of every make. I'm just glad to pick up a clean stock car to start with.

Like it was stated above belts then fluids would be a good start! And you have a pretty nice collection of cars under your belt!

Belts were supposedly done at 90k. he said he did the belts once at 60k but the water pump went out and redid it again at 90k.

Just finished replacing both front axles a few weeks ago and changed out all the gear oil. Took it on a mini road trip to Leavenworth and it kept up with my friend's R32 golf so I'm pretty happy with that.

Next will be tires and new pads all around with a brake fluid flush.

do my eyes deceive me or is that a reflex silver corrado, with a vrt?

correction i meant silver arrow

Satin silver :thumb:

VRT pushing about 400hp 475tq a few years I can't keep transmissions intact to redyno so I'll just wait until after I finish my AWD swap and see what I put down:D

Never looked into that swap, I've always been a gti/golf kind of guy LOL, along with a few caddys and the one air cooled hood ride LOL .... I'm in love with that corrado... Still haven't owned one of those.... I daily a mk4 tdi... I had quite a few vw"s in the passed.

Very nice car sir!!!

I love Corrados!!! Always wanted one when I was younger, still do I guess.

Keep on top of the maintenance and the DSM will treat you right. Do your water pump, timing belt and I'd personally delete the balance shafts (1 less thing to go wrong); make sure to use OEM parts.

The kid I just bought my 95 gts from, blew his motor he was told the belts were done etc. , turned up boost and dumped a ton of fuel and a valve shot into the piston. nice clean cars though I have always loved the slammed vws, I think they look sick

I inpected the belts and they look brand new.

Master is going out like he told me. I grind the gears once in awhile. Hopefully a new master and slave will fix that.

Also motor mounts seems a bit squishy. One of the boost rubs show wear from hitting on a plastic part. Is it that hard of a job on these cars as it looks? Anyone local willing to do it for me for some bacon and beer? :D
