Hi! I've joined here a while ago hoping to get information on DSMs and ditch my car (07 Scion tC owned by parents who will not give me the title despite it being my first car and high school graduation gift) and have a car I actually own under my name.

I got into DSMs and been wanting one since my former friend/Army battle buddy purchased a 91 Plymouth Laser RS and swapped in a 4G63T. I've been wanting to do something like that for a very long time. He was pushing about 20lbs of boost from what I've seen on the gauges and it was fast! He claimed it was an Evo 4G63, but I knew too little about cars back then so I just agreed in fascination. This was 2008/2009.

I was going to get a 93 Eclipse from a friend who didn't want it and offered $300 for it. I asked her brother who I worked with in the Army and he said the engine seized 2 times due to oil and the clutch is shot as well. I thought about just getting it anyway. Later on I was thinking of my finances and I don't have a place to store it. So I declined it. That was 4 months ago I believe.

Now I just said whatever. So I got a friend to help me out and are planning to drive out to where she's at with a truck and a U-Haul tow dolly. She's just happy to get it off her place. Now I'm doing all the research on swapping the engine and replacing the clutch (don't worry I have friends to hold my hand for this process). For now, I'm just going to get another 4G37 to just get it up and running so I have a car to drive when I move out of my parent's place. I will set up a build journal of some sort when I'm ready to pick up the car.

Hopefully I'll find what I can on this forum when I can't find it through my academic Google research. Just like the other forum I'm on, ScionLife, research first and then ask the questions.

You have good plans so far but your want to swap a nt 4g63 into the car. Not a4g67. Typo im sure. Just checking. Were all here to help once tou get the car and the community has a lot of guys that has the turbo swaps or turbo conversions on the 1gs. Just all depends on what your goals are and what you want out of the car. Ive done a turbo conversion and let me tell you it was fun but then on the other hand it really wasnt. You can always use vfaq.com for just about anything you want to for walk thrus on anything for a DSM. Good luck and welcome to the community.
