This is that car that made me fall in love with AWD/Boost and 3 years later opportunity came to be able to own it, I bought it with a blow motor but overall good condition car. Pulling the motor went smooth and gave me 3 weeks to clean the engine bay and redo the interior. Two month of ownership its ready for the road.

Put the Evo MR Wheels on it. New weather-seal for the aftermarket sunroof.

Started with fixing headliner. Replaced missing screws. Then added the stock evo parts:

Shift knob
Evo 9 Petals
Rearview mirror
Evo 9 Steering wheel
MR gauges
Non-SSL Head unit
Evo 9 fuel pump

I couldn't stand the whine of the walbro 255 so i put in the evo 9 to get the fuel i need with out the sound. If its needed down the road it will go back in but would like to add a FPR first.

I made a harness for the radio for plug and play, welded the hub for the steering wheel and wired in the AEM Wideband.

The car is stock besides those mods. Drives great and starts right up. Im not looking to do much more besides get an aem ems for the car and tune it. Launches hard and shifts butter smooth. Waiting for some tracks to open to get some times out of it and a starting point.

Here is my other car:

2005 Evo 8 SSL
Very stock looking, Fully Built

Does the evo radio just plug in or did you have to do a conversion harness? Also does it bolt it or do you again have to make mounts for it.

thanks,
dan

I had to make a conversion harness that plugs between the car and the radio, also had to drill holes/fab mounts for everything to fit solid and square. If you want more details or pictures ill post everything up for you. It lights up with everything else it just doesn't dim.

The Talon looks good with the BBS wheels. I also like the Evo parts and the intercooler pipes. That Evo is super clean.

Very nice cars bro!! And yes that steering wheel looks sick....... I would love to do that in my 2G.

Thanks, the evo 9 steering wheel a little bit smaller but the difference is night and day. Its goes well with the car instead of the 1g bus steering wheel.

those are clean. I like the red intercooler piping. and you know if you put that black insulator sleeve on the wally 255 it cuts down on the whine so much. i never even notice mine unless im sitting at a light with my stereo off and none of my fans are on. And even then i barely hear it.

A little update, I'm averaging about 25 mpg, spirited driving, no WOT. I have about 30 track passes with the car at Atco, Nj. Best is 13.0X @ 104, with 10+ of the runs being 13.3 @ 101. Im always at 1.82 sixty foots using the ACT 2600. I feel like i need just a little bit more power to get that lower. Boost is at 13-14psi. No tuning. I added a evo HKS intake and APS BOV for those runs. Only two problems i still have to fix is Manifold to Turbo leak, and Turbo to J-pipe leak. Then back to the track for 12's. Thanks for the compliments.

What exhaust do you have your car?? Looks like a apexi n1?? But your car looks exactly like mine minus the rims. I love it haha.

Apexi N1 Full exhaust, stock 02, hotside, manifold. I like the sound, very quiet, nice look, and not a restriction for my minor setup.

did the evo steering wheel bolt on with no problems?i plan on using a evo 8 one

You have to weld the hub to the steering wheel. Best mod to date after headliner.

so which is the daily...?

The daily is a 93 Chevy 1500 4wd. 210,000 miles and counting. I enjoy projects/toys. I also have a 2007 GSXR1000 and a registered and insured 1986 Honda XL600R On/Off Road. I actually enjoy using the DSM and the Honda more often because they are older and i don't care what mileage i put on them. What suck is trying to find time to ride/drive between 80 hours of work a week and the girlfriend.

The insulator was on there, The wally whine is a pump to pump problem, the one in my evo is super quiet, cant even hear it at all, the one that was is the talon was a screamer.

I'm digging them both. But, were did you pick up the weather stripping for the eclipse? I'm needing to do this my self. having a bit of trouble as all i've been able to find is universal stuff. Nothing specific for the doors or sun roof as needed. Thanks for the info ahead of time.
