New here, Traded my 3g for a 1g

Picking up my 92 Talon TSI next week, traded my 3g Eclipse for it, the car has A LOT of work done, no stone has been unturned with it, im very pleased with the trade.
The only thing wrong with the car is a drive train noise, i believe it to be a bad transfer case, or a misaligned clutch. The tranny is a brand new Stage 3 Shep, that shifts like butter, and all the gears are there. The car still drives, but makes a lot of racket. Im thinking its the transfer case, which im hoping because it will be a quick fix.

Where is the "Members Ride" section btw? on club3g.com there was a designated place, is there one here?

And im guessing most of you on site are anti-3g eclipse

This is a problem noise, similar to loud racket, almost like metal on metal banging. All the gears are engaging in the tranny, so i dont believe that is the problem. The guy was driving it on the highway and all of a sudden it started making lots of noise and was smoking, so i think its the transfer case.

And for the pics
here is the 3g

And here is the new 1g

Pull off your intake hose and do a visual inspection of the compressor wheel.

Very good trade. I have both a 3g(DD) and a 2g

I'm definitely not anti 3g, its still running even though it gets no TLC

My 2g will be a DD soon enough...maybe

Nice trade!

I like the look of the 3gs, but the FWD part ruins it. although, I think the powertrain from a 3000GT/Stealth/GTO should fit in.

Never can be too safe. I'm just trying to troubleshoot for you. I mean, to check the wheel out, it takes what, 4 minutes max? Might as well.

If it ends up being the T-Case make the Dealer fix it. there is a nhtsa saftey recall on them, so you get Lifetime replacement Don't Let them tell you No Either
Although Smoking doesn't sound like the T-case
