hi im new to the dsm seen and already love it! about 3 years ago i had an opertunity to buy a 2g tsi and passed on it because it said "EAGLE", dont i feel dumb now! i resently bout a 2g eclipse from a friend who i envied the day he got it and took me for a ride. i have wanted the car ever since then. the motor has been rebuilt to the standard 4g63 and rebuilt factory turbo and is in great condition other than that so i look forward to having it for a long time. with the help of this site i feel i can add a few mods and have a wicked little "4 banger" LOL

hey quick newb question.... the only difference between the tsi and the gst is the name right?

Technically there are several "differences" between the Mitsubishi produced eclipse and the Daimler Chrysler produced talon. That ONLY refers to the "true" dsm's . ALL 2g's no matter talon or eclipse were produced under Mitsubishi. So technically the eclipse and talon are the exact same car with a different name. They are still different in some ways. Both cosmetically and over all functionality and mechanics varied slightly on all 1g and 2g between brands. Either way they both are responsive to modifications, Its the exact same power plant and drive line in both if I am not mistaken. ALL 2g "DSM" share the seven bolt 4g63 no matter the brand the trans/ trans case and most of the electronics were also very similar . So it really comes down to which one you think looks less stupid. FYI with enough time you can build a VERY capable dsm for not much money at all. While retaining our apparently non existent reliability.

thanks that was very informative along with many of the forums and tech tips on this site. glad i found this site going to follow the upgrade path for now so as not to create more problems jumping to the"cool" upgrades first.:thumb:
