Hey everyone just bought a 95 eclipse gs-t, it has a evo waste gate, bov (forget what brand) and other then that its mostly stock, just bought it TWO days ago with 102k miles on it, pretty clean only $2900. So i found this to be the most attracting forum to sign up to. Only had my eclipse two days and its already blown a head gasket and hoses. Sooo needless to say its in the shop getting a copper performance head gasket and performance head studs (dont know what kind of significant this will give but anyways) so im saying HI.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase.
A few things i recommend you do before anything else is get yourself an aftermarket boost gauge and wideband to properly monitor your car.
A quick simple run-down on what you should do can be found in this site under tech, upgrade paths.
Remember before you do any mods to your car do all your required maintenance first. This will ensure your car is up to par and healthy and you won't run into troubles later on and ruin your fun.
And last but not least don't vent your bov, if you want to hear it louder just get hard piping and up the boost a little.

thanks alot for the tips! also, i know about turbo'd cars but what exactly do you mean about vent my blow off valve? this is my first turbo ive owned. i do have a boost gauge, boost is at 15psi because supposedly theres an evo wastegate on it, so im updating the headgasket and studs as they just blew today though there was no overheating issues when it happend(the gauge read normal and no smoke or anything) i just found out 2 days ago that i have a baby coming, needless to say this will be a budget build, where is the best place to get a wideband o2 and what exactly will it do for my car? Also if i have one, how can i tell? (i sound kinda dumb, i do know a big amount about cars but nada about turbo's ) thanks again for the welcome, so far im liking this forum the best.

welcome Nick, I am new myself, and I am in the panhandle of Florida!
I will awnser the few basic questions the best I can, that you asked,
Venting the blow off valve (BOV) is releasing the boost pressure to the outside, not good, it will give you a "rich" condition for your engine and ECU to deal with.
a Wideband O2 is an aftermarket gauge that lets you know how rich or lean (very bad) your air and fuel mixture is.
This is a very informative site, I will bet you will spend many hours here and getting to know your new DSM very well!

can you explain to me how exactly i might vent a blow off valve?is it like letting off the gas while coasting just to hear the bov? i'm kinda hoping for a girl. wheres the cheapest place where i can get a reliable wideband o2?

btw i wrote in my first post im getting a copper head gasket, its getting (i believe) a cometic. it says on the site this will lower the compression, will i feel a difference? the shop also said 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves were stuck on, got the head back from the machine shop reshaved and everything fixed.
