If it wasnt just limited to track cars and had like autoX, i would be game.

MY buddy picked this up, and it's pretty amazing. The scaling of the track is as close to the real thing I think as you can get in most instances. My only gripe with it is the cost. You will end up spending close to $200 or more once you start getting into this game.

One of the cool things though is the online community, and the amount of actual racers on there. I've seen Dale Jr. Daddio (auto-x champ), and a few others from various open wheel series.

The game has a steep learning curve and punishes harshly for any sort of shenanigans like driving off track, wrecking etc. You have to maintain a certain aptitude level to increase your licences and the choices you have are limited to your licence.

iRacing is intriguing but for the cost. Sometimes it seems more work than fun.

I like being able to drive a bigger variety of cars and tracks now, so I think I will stick to GTR2/Racer07/GTR Evolution for the time being. Still very realistic, but more cars, tracks, and the fun factor and cost are a bit more what I'm looking for.

I got into iRacing about a month ago. So far i've got an A class oval license and a B class road license. I agree that it is expensive to buy new tracks and cars on an almost weekly basis but I always make sure I get my moneys worth by racing the crap outa them. My only complaint is the safety rating system. I tend to be a safe but aggressive driver and I rarely cause incidents but when others wreck you it still hurts you. If they designed a system that would assign fault then it would be great. I just don't like being punished for other peoples mistakes.

Ill bring this back from the dead. By far the best racing sim out there. It really is as real as it can get. If the cars are changed in real life. They will be changed on the game that same week. Tracks are always added. If anyone races rookie legends or latemodels im sure youve raced with me.

Also bumping, I just got this going with my Fanatec wheel set, hopefully there are more of us out there.

I tried one of these sites before just to get banned from it the first day I played because someone thought it would be a great idea to brake really early while I was trying to pass him causing a huge wreck on the first turn. I lost like 25 bucks for maybe 45 seconds of playtime and they refused to give me my money back.

The other one I thought about trying required you to buy third party games just for their system to schedule races for you... at the low low cost of like 45 dollars a month.

This one seems more legit but their videos only showed horrible drivers I wouldn't want to race against anyway.
