I got GT4 awhile back and its cool and all but I never did like the playstations dual shock controllers, the joysticks are too hard to be precise with. SOOOOOOO I bought a Logitech Driving Force steering wheel off Ebay and it works fine with the game and all and the force feedback is awsome......But..   With this wheel anytime I get to a big straight away Its near imposible to get the car to stay going straight. Unrealistically so, Its like driving a car with massive ammounts of body roll, bad struts, and a couple sumo wrestlers in the back seat throwing there weight back and forth! Say you are going straight and you turn slightly to start a pass or something, your car will start wanting to rock back and forth and once this happens your basically shafted and you end up in last place facing a wall because you spun out. Even when driving dead straight on a flat surface at 20 mph and you let go of the wheel it will start swerving hard back and forth, this is not realistic at all! Ive gone 100 on the highway in my laser and it tracks dead straight. With the force feedback off its not quite as bad but still horrible. I couldnt even place first in the Sunday cup with my fully modded Rx-7! WTF I mean Damn, I bought the wheel to make it easier to play the game and here I am the first day considering selling it. Anybody else have this problem?

This should be in the Gran Turismo 4 section of the Hangout. Yes, it seems to be a rather common problem, at high speeds. Check out GTplanet.net, and go to the message boards. There are quite a few posts about this problem, especially in the driving force stickies. You may want to try adjusting the settings for the wheel from the game options menu, like force feedback level, etc. Hope this helps. :dsm:

You can turn the force feedback down to mid in the settings but it doesnt really make a big difference, really the only thing you can do to make it playable is to turn off the force feedback off which sucks. Ill check out that site, maybe theres a way to make it work right.

I solved the problem, I drove for awhile with the force feedback off then with it on and did like 20 laps on one track until I got good at it. Theres just a big learning curve going over to a wheel especially one with force feedback, but its worth it you can feel every little bump and imperfection in the road and I love when your going up over a hill and you catch air and your wheel goes loose all the sudden then jerks back when you make contact with the ground again, or going through a turn then letting the wheel center itself again just like when your really driving. Logitech Driving Force highly recomended. :thumb:

everybody complains but most the time is where people race on i highly recomend this as well
