Hey, is it possible to play GT4 in HDTV? What kind of cables/boxes do I need?

Thanks,
Ben

You need PS2 component cables and a HD compatible monitor (1080i looks GREAT). The game will run in 480p (progressive scan) if your monitor doesn't support 1080i.

Oh...

God...

YES!!!!

The game finally validated my television purchase. Thansk Poly Digital. :thumb:

I just tried on my g/f's TV, 50 inch HDTV 1080i and all that stuff...Didn't work. Do I need new cables? Or maybe older ps2's didn't support HD? Any insight would be great, thanks. This game rocks, I can't wait for HD and Bose surround.

Okay so did you read my post? You need COMPONENT cables. Composite cables will not give you HD.

My apologies, I was not aware of the difference between component and composite cables. I'm not a huge a/v buff, I just like to play GT4 and have it look nice. Thanks and sorry for my ignorance.

Looks awesome on hdtv. But it seriously needs some anti-aliasing. Everything that can be seen far away looks way too pixelated. Can't wait for Xbox 2. PS3 is going to be a very long wait. But I'll definately get both once available.

I got a 46inch samsung DLP hdtv, my ps2 is hooked up with the component cables and a optical audio cable for my 5.1[acctually 7.1 but live in an appaerment so cant hook up the 2 side speakers] surround system with thx compatibility and this game fcuking rocks :rocks: When i got this game i played for two days straight without going to sleep :D I wanna go back and play it but i have so much to do right now that i just dont have the time :toobad:

I have the same TV without the surround system...yet. All of the glitches and problems in the game seem almost nonexistant when you play in 1080i mode. And a GT Logitech Pro steering wheel helps as well, it also allows you to left foot brake which can take a few seconds off of your lap times. :D :thumb: If you like the game you will find time to play...even one race will hold you off for a while.
