well unfortunately i, like many i imagine, wasn't able to get my GT4 copy today, but i have a list of questions that i really want to know about GT4.

-any further in-depth tuning capabilities available for GT4?
-any further wheel options (weight, size, finish)
-any custom turbo options or any real turbochargers available? :D
-any body enhancements avaible (beside rims; lips, hoods, spoilers, aero)?
-graphic wise, any smoke/steam out of exhaust? hood? (most common on our dsm's i'd imagine ;) )
-sign of dirt/mud/bugs/water/roadkill on the car after races?
(that would sure help make the car wash system more efficient; that is, if it was carried over from GT3)
-engine bay shops available for all cars? interior shots available for all cars?
-sound wise, different exhaust tones? BOV sounds (the ricer in me :D )
-any enhancements to the sound of speed at higher mph?
-is heads-up drag racing available (1 on 1; 2player drag racing)

these are probably all enhancements i should hope for in GT5(probably in 5 years at the rate gt4 was released  ). However, i think i will be satisfied with racing games when all these things are accomplished to perfection. anyway, maybe i'm aiming to high on some questions, but let me know if anyone knows the exact answers.

Rollcages is the only thing that comes to mind.

Nope.

Stage 1-4 turbos and 1-2 intercoolers.

Just rims and wings. Although each tuning company has a crazy car you can buy with body kit, wing, crazy paint job, rims, etc.

Backfires on downshifts, smoke from the tires. Only things I've noticed so far.

Yup carwash is still there. I haven't rallied yet except in the license tests, so I haven't noticed mud or anything.

No interior shots unless it's a 'vert and no engine shots.

Turbos sound amazing. Exhaust sound great too.

Yes. I was driving a race car in a Mission, and it was crazy at high speeds. You can hear the wind rushing past unless you are drafting, and the car bounces all over the place when you hit bumps.

All I've used the drag racing for is testing my 1/4 time so far, so I don't know.

There's NOS. Compression and Rebound are adjustable in the shocks (I don't remember that being there in gt3). Downforce can now be adjusted on most cars if you buy the aerodynamic addons (wings) from the wing shop. There is ASM for understeer and oversteer rather than just one general setting. You can add ballast to the car to change the weight balance. You can buy "original" turbo kits (beyond the stage 1-4) and suspension kits from "tuners" like HKS and Blitz... but I see no distinction between the different brands. The suspension kit descriptions say they're supposed to be a range stiffer than the full adjustable sets, and while they may be I noticed with them I can't adjust my compression rebound and must adjust them together. You can buy roll-cages for "stiffening". And there's some option to "refresh" a chassis that's bent up... no idea when you need that. Sure there's more but I forget what else.

Nope, just aesthetics. Well, there is one slight change... you can choose the wheels for specific types of tires. So you can have one look for your race tires, one for your street, one for your winter, one for dirt.

Well, kinda mentioned this above... there's "original" turbo kits from the tuners that per the description have different torque curves. I didn't look closely into this (though I did buy one for my evo). I know the max hp on that kit is less than the highest stage kit available for my car.

Didn't see any other than what you mentioned.

There's backfire, which honestly is pretty cool to see :D

No, other than the car not being as shiny as before.

Engine bay shops? I don't know what you mean. No interior shots that I saw, but who knows.

Not adjustable. I don't know if the exhaust changes depending on what "tuner" I buy from. Actually, I don't get the friggin' point of these "tuners" other than they show their shop cars for sale.

Heh, the wind noise seems stronger, which helps me with the sense of speed.

Dunno.

I also noticed there is no out-of-car view, only 1 view

or was my button not working?

I don't remember the default button for view change, but it's there. Try select maybe.

Yup, it's select. There's 3 views - front bumper, over the hood, and chase. I use chase for racing and front bumper for license tests or when I really want to hit my lines perfectly.

I use front bumper view all the time. I don't feel in control of the car in chase mode.

I've had the japanese version for ages now

u guys forgot to mention motion blur effects... for a sense of speed

phyics are much improved.. letting off the gas at the wrong moment unsettles a car much easier.. especially on nuremburing as well as a "weight" of a car...if u over steer for example and counter steer u'll feel the weight snap back the other way and u can easily end up zig zagging down the road

there's Supercharger as well as turbo...

u can adjust the "size" of ur shot of N02... (some cars max shot is 50.. others 100shot)

Tire selection is bigger now

there's Normal 1-2-3, Sport 1-2-3, Race 1-2-3-4-5 and Dirt and Snow.. higher the number the softer it is...

during pit stops.. u can change the type of tire u have.. and choose whether to refill ur gas tank or not...

they have endurance races that are 24hrs! prize money is 1,200,000 cr OMG

Turbo lag is better simulated in this version.. u can really "feel" when u fall out of the power band

exhaust sounds are quite varied... but some are pretty weak... the E55 SL55 and some other V8's are pathetic... they sound nothing like the real thing...

Japanese cars seem more realistic sound wise...

theres support for HDTV so u can make the graphics EVEN better lookin...

many other things I can't remember off the top of my head...

another strange thing... they have the eurospec 2ga eclipse GS-T (refferred to as Eclipse GT) it's rated at 230 HP... and it beats the Integra Type R easily in a drag.. and the silvia S-13... they made it bloody fast! I have a euro spec it sure doesn't feel like that! :p

another thing that bugs me, is u can't use a car direct from ur garage.. only it's stock counterpart.. so if u have a 1000HP R34 skyline.. u can only use the 280hp base version... :thumbdown

You mean in VS mode?

Yeah the physics make the game different then GT3, the car seems wobbly exiting corners and when braking at high speeds the car has a tendency to become unstable. One thing that I noticed is that the chase camera is stuck to the back of the car, any time you make a little movement, it goes right with it. Makes the car seem like it is stiff.

In GT3 there was a little delay with the camera, say if you were drifting, the camera wouldn't stay directly behind you but rather at an angle behind you.

P.S. I love the AWD launches in the game, the back-fire was cool the first time I saw it but then it got old because every other car was doing it as well (stock Scion xB, Taurus...)

Yes you can when you go head to head. Just click the one for memory card one, and 2 for memory card two on the top of the screen.

the eagle talon ESi sounds like an Indy car when you put on the Eagle racing exhaust...wow

I know, I would pay $4600 for this exhaust/air intake package in real life for my 420a if it sounded like that and gave that much more hp. LOL
