Ok well I got a punishment racing FMIC and I want to install it soon. So I read some threads and a tech article and still have a few questions

One is the nipple on the J pipe, what size should it be, we have nipples that are similar in our air compressor section at work with threaded ends, so would those be good enough?
And installing that in the J pipe, I read that I can just drill a hole and weld it in, but I was thinking of using plumping solder, or would there be too much heat and melt the solder (or any other issues). I was thinking that because I can do it at home fairly fast, and I don't know how to weld.

Two. The U shaped line that runs in front of my radiator (power steering pump line I believe). I am kind of confused with that line. Do I remove it and keep it out, or remove it for mounting then pop it back in? (or reroute it somehow)

Three. The tech thread I read on how to install says to mount it using stainless steel wire to hang and support it. Is there a better way to mount this up? The article said that is what PR recommended to mount it.

Four. This does not pertain to my FMIC, but when I turn my car on and its cold my RPM's jump to 2.5k sometimes 3k. Is it normal for it to jump up like that? I read that there is a coolant line that runs to the TB that lets the car to know to keep RPM's high to warm that car up, but it seems too high. And with the cold brittle winters we have I don't like the fact of an engine jumping up to 3k RPM as soon as it is on from dead cold. So if I'm not mistaking I can cap off that line and the RPM will not jump? And other than my car taking longer to heat up is there any other side effects.

One- I think they come with the nipple already on the j pipe. Or at least it did on my 2g kit.

Two- That is your power steering line, you could bend it and route it behind the radiator so it doesnt rub on the ic. Or mod it to not hit the ic. But either way you can bend it out of the way. I wouldn't recommend deleting it.

Hope that helps some.

No my 1g kit does not have the nipple, And i read another 1g thread saying his did not either and they had to weld it in.

My power stearing line is rusted so I dont think it would bend to well but ill take a closer look at it to see what I can do. Thanks

No nipple with the 1g kit. I drilled a hole a little smaller than a 3/8" brass NPT fitting, used the fitting to thread itself into the J-pipe, put a brass nut on it, JB'd it a little to make sure the threads were sealed and the nut wasn't coming off, and voila.

Oh, and for the Power steering line, on the drivers side where the pipe goes through the core support, I cut a slot above where pipe passes through about 2" wide and 3" high that the power steering line now goes through, which sets it on top of the fmic in front of the radiator, without bending the PS line.

ok I was thinking plumbing solder would of been better the jb weld but Ill just use that then. I was wondering if it would get hot enough right there to melt the solder.
