MVS Wastegate Install

I just got in the Punishment Racing MVS Recirculated o2 housing and it's damn beautiful. I looked at the install picture that came with it and I even checked out the other thread for doing the install.

The wastegate has 2 male AN fittings already installed and came with 3 plugs and 2 hose barb fittings. I know I'll be putting the hose barbs in place of the AN fittings but counting the ports there are a total of 7. 5 on the lower side, 1 for the atmosphere vent on the top and there is one more port below that.

I know that the atmosphere port is to be left open and the 3 plugs are for the lower half that are un used. What about that last port that I don't have a plug for at all? Lookin into it you can see the spring inside the assembly. Help would be nice

You have 7 ports? Thats weird. Mine only has 5 and even this pictured says it has 5.

I believe there is a new MVS housing that has cooling ports. And now that you say that yours came with AN fittings (which mine didnt) Im almost positive you may have the new version of the MVS.

Yea it's too much evidence. Now Im positive you have the cooling MVS. In which case, do not remove the AN fittings in place for the barbed ones. Install your plugs like the firsty pic I posted and either use the cooling ports (which would be badass) or just block them off as well.

Yes, mine looks like the one on the right. Any benefit to using the cooling ports or is it just to help keep temps down off of the wastegate?

Had no idea that they made a revised MVS.

Yea thats pretty much the only benefit. I'd give it a shot and try to hook it up man. It'd be cool in itself as I haven't seen these ports hooked up to function on a DSM. But maybe thats the very reason ppl havent kooked them up, no real benefit from it...

I just sent an email to TiAL about the wastegate since there is no information on it at all. Even on their site, it just shows spring pressures and that's it. No install help. Well, if it is indeed for cooling I'm sure I can tap my waterlines that were used for the 16g and hook it up to the wastegate. Won't be able to do anything about that for a little while as this setup is just going to be sitting for at least a month.

Well that was a pain. I took off the cap to verify the springs inside and turns out I have the gold and blue/gray spring which makes it about 10 pounds or so. When I went to install the cap, one of the allen head bolts was bent making it unusable. PITA!

TiAL has great customer service. Sent that email out and Pam is sending me out a new allen bolt free of charge.

Just got word back from Jake at TiAL and he stated that all MV-S wastegates now come with the coolant provisions. So that's a little bit of a plus for any new or future owners to come.

Yea and they're keeping the same price as the ones without the cooling provisions. Cool stuff.
