My old setup was one line from the mbc to the wastegate and the other to one of the throttle body nipples but i went to a shop out here and they said that line going to the throttle body nipple should go to the intake manifold instead...

well i had my bov hooked up to the intake manifold as ## suppose to and he just removed that mbc line from the throttle body and capped it off and put a t-fitting in between the bov line and ran the mbc line there now is that ok?

i noticed i was boosting 20lbs before he did that and now its only hitting like 12 and he says to adjust the controller but i dunno what do u guys think?

You were running your MBC line at the TB!!!!! WTF You want it AS CLOSE to the turbo as you can get, some turbos even have a nipple to run it off the compressor housing itself.

I just posted this picture in another thread about 5 seconds ago, there are SO MANY topics about his already...

T-ing into the BOV line is the way a lot of people do it.

Another way is to run the one line to the wastegate and the second line to to the turbo/j-pipe. This is supposed to be better because it doesn't interfere with the BOV line and it is closer to the turbo.

Hope this helps!

Yea i understand i am gonna make a brass fitting in the j-pipe next week but im just worried now cause im not boosting 20lbs and its running off the bov line that im gonna damage something? i mean why im not boosting 20lbs like i was before since the t-ing into the bov line?

You won't mess anything up running it that way, a LOT of people run it that way. Because you changed ports you are going to have to set your MBC again. You didn't move the gauge source did you? (I'm assuming an aftermarket gauge, right?) If you have an aftermarket gauge, hooked up right, crank your boost back up.

Yes i have a vac/boost gauge and it was tuned at 20lbs thats what the gauge was reading at wot before i switch to the t-ing thing so i should turn my boost up now?

and is the t-ing thing better then running the mbc line to the throttle body nipple?

i heard t-ing the line to the bov cause it not to work correctly?

Yes the 'T' method is better than running it from the throttle body. Crank it. I'm assuming you can feel the difference too, 18 to 12 is a big drop. Sounds like the difference is just from the different ports. I would reset it.

It's NOT the best source but it does work. I've seen it a lot more then running from the throttle body. If you makes you uncomfortable then don't do it, just leave it at the TB until you get the port put in your j-pipe.

well its been done already since thats what the shop prefered be better then the throttle body so if i have to go back to the old setup i need to buy a new hose and vacuum line which is cheap but still i dunno if i should just leave it or not till i do the j pipe mod :hmm:

yea well the shop did a T in the bov line and im hooked up to that now...they said its better source then the damn throttle body by the way that wasnt how i set it up the car came that way im just trying to get it right.

But i heard Hooking up a bleeder type mbc will result in a vacuum leak as well as affect the working of the BOV but i dont have a bleeder type mbc so should i be fine?

Ok looks like I understand that diagram but what do I do with the unused vacuum lines that are open after removing BCS? Plug 'em? Is there a simple way to keep BCS involved and still turn up boost with a bleeder valve to 14 lbs so I can have bcs as a failsafe agiaist knock?

Other than that I did the bcs mod which gave me 12 lbs boost so is it worth drilling out that same nipple on bcs to perhaps reach 14 lbs that way -or- will it not get that high plus bcs would maybe be ruined too for future normal use and/or for selling

Plug the extra vacuum ports or loop them into each other.

If you use a MBC it replaces the BCS. I don't see how you would use both unless you set it up with a switch (that has been done before, there is a thread about it on here). That way you could switch between factory boost (BCS) and your higher boost (MBC). However I don't see how the BCS can be used as a fail safe for a MBC in instances of knock.

I hope this helps!
