hey guys i need help with idling of the car ....yesterday after installing my new bullseye 50 trim turbo the car starts but doesnt want to idle smooth ... i backed out the biss screw almost all the way ... i will redo the biss screw procedure and see if works ... i was wondering would a lean idle cause this problem...i have a wide band so if anyone knows the A/F ratio im looking for at idle and all other operating ranges let me know asap ...thanks guys...:D:D

you want 14.7 to 1 at idle and light to mid throttle. And at wot i tune for 10.5 to 1 to 11.5 to 1. You can make more hp with the 11.5 to 1 but youre safer running 10.5 to 1

Your wideband will read anything from 14.7-20.0 at idle and when you let off. It's normal, don't freak out the first time you see it. LOL

yeah man i thought that was weird it was reading high at idle but thanks for the heads up... at part throttle im get a reading of 14.5 and as i open the throttle more it steadily drops and at WOT i was getting 10.3.1 to 10.5.1 on the wideband...on the S-AFC the settings i have is as follows 30% lo and 70% high throttle and on compensation on Lo i have +16% across the range and hi i have +17% across the range ...u will see my list of mods in my profile and tell me if im on the right track ...thanks so much guys :D:D:thumb::thumb:

Why are you adding that much fuel with a tuned ECU and a GM MAS?

So u think im too rich i thought so too but i wanted to start rich and lean out as i see no knock at different loads ...i was watching the low trim and i was getting a very high number like 131% on the logger so i added fuel to bring the trim down so that's why i had that much on the compensation ... what do u think a good start would be ... any input will be greatly appreciated dude ...:D:D

Is your Translator zeroed out, or are you doing any additional tuning with the Translator?

If you had ECU compensation and you were also compensating for 680's through the Translator, you may need to add fuel. Otherwise, yes- you're probably too rich.

my translator is set to 450cc my ecu is compensating for the 680cc i brought the settings down to +10% and it feels alot better i went wide open throttle and i got a bit of knock like 2-3 counts at 7250 rpms at the +10% setting on the s-afc ..i will continue to bring the compensation down on the s-afc down if there is no knock...but yeah do u have a s-afc setting i can start with let me know. :D:D

I can't tell you what your fuel trims would be over the internet. If I could, I'd be making a lot more money than I do working at my shop.

What you need to do is pay attention to your air / fuel ratios at all time, and tune for whatever ratio makes you feel safe under full acceleration. Once you get that dialed in, start playing with timing until you get knock, then back off slightly and stay there.

I know you have an AFC and a Translator, but Link is really the ultimate tuning tool for a DSM that is still running a factory ECU. With Link you can log your air / fuel ratios so you can see exactly what RPM you go lean or rich and adjust your fuel trims accordingly instead of glancing back and forth while trying to drive in a straight line.

Hey man i kept reducing the correction on the s-afc and i got a little knock but u was right i was too high with a tuned ecu ...i will continue to watch the trims and i have an a/f ratio at wot 10.5 ...i will keep updating ....:D:D
