Hey guys hows it going

I've done some research on this issue and found some info but i would like some verification on a very simple question that some will probably find stupid but here we go :)

I currently own the scm6152 turbo from PTE with the bolt on housing. I have found out from reading its horribly restrictive,the housing that is, and i plan on upgrading as soon as time and money permits. What i want to know is how i could try to maximize this housing for current use. I only want to try to run this car into like the 10.8 or 10.7 range on slicks this year and just curious if this is do-able on the pte bolt on turbo housing and if there is any type of porting that can be done to maximize the housing itself

The housing is definitely going to limit your turbo's ability to generate it's airflow potential.

Recently a buddy of mine was only seeing 48lb/min out of his PTE SCM6031E. He decided he was going to switch to a .82 a/r turbine housing with a T3 inlet and a 4-bolt Garrett outlet mated to a cast Turbonetics manifold. Switching the housing alone opened up 7-8lb/min of additional airflow, and made the car feel TOTALLY different above 5k.

It's possible you could find a Bullseye turbine housing that will outflow the tiny PTE housing that's currently on your turbo while still remaining a DSM bolt-on, but if you're buying another housing you might as well invest in something that will really be worth it.

I'm not saying you COULDN'T get to your goal with the PTE housing, it would just be much easier with one that would support more airflow....even if it comes at a cost of a few hundred RPMs of lag.
 
lag is definatly not an issue for me i mean the car gets a 6000 rpm 2 step on the rev limiter but i agree i've read also that the pte housing is a huge restriction in the airflow and i am upgrading very soon just a good manifold / housing is around 1000 so gotta try to work with what i got right now

i mean i've seen around 52ish lb/min airflow on the dsm link through a 2g maf on the car with 32 psi before i switched over to a speed density setup. The car also ran a 11.4 @ 128 mph in full street trim on 17 inch street tires that way

I guess i should probably just start saving for a t3 manifold and housing and just be done that's amazing it picked up that much airflow just from a housing =) which really makes me excited for when i do switch over
 
His turbo also had the DSM Bolt-On PTE housing, but it was breathing through a tiny T31 (Stage 3) turbine. Your T352 (Stage 5) turbine alone will outflow his T31, so I'm not sure if you'll see the same airflow gains....but you're definitely going to gain alot.
