Turbo with No Creep
Hello All,
I have a bone stock '99 GSX (with the exception of a full turbo-back 3" exhaust with no cat). My stock turbo just went, so I figured now would be the time to upgrade to a different turbo. The problem is, I'm not ready to start buying tuning software, fuel upgrades (with the exception of maybe a fuel pump) and everything else. I'm looking for a turbo that will give me a little more power top end, but without the creep problems of the 16G. What would you guys recommend?

I recommend you get another stock replacement turbo if you don't want to tune your car. I'm sure it will feel faster in the top-end if you've been driving with a blown (or on it's way out) turbo. and you won't need to upgrade anything.
When you're ready to tune your car them think about swapping turbos. But if you dont want to do it right then don't do it at all.

No tuning software = no turbo upgrade. Doing so is putting your engine in serious risk.

Put a 14b on it. Cheap and easily upgradeable if you want to go bigger later, a good upgrade over a t25 and doesn't need fuel upgrades.

14b would be a good upgrade but it could also have creep issues, just not as much as the 16g. If you port the 16g correctly it will hold boost fine.

I upgraded my stock 14b to a 16G with ported 2G mani and turbine housing running 15psi and have no creep. The only fuel upgrade is a 255lph pump and an AFPR. If you do go with a 16G either go with a external WG or an O2 housing with a WG dump. Should have no creep at 15psi.

Creep is a function of the ability of your post turbo exhaust to flow. If the turbine outlet flows better than the wastegate, then you will creep. Only way to prevent / fight creep is to get a bigger, better flowing wastegate. So, upgrade your O2 housing and exhaust.

Then you aren't ready to upgrade your turbo.

Amen!
Now the 14b can be used at stock boost levels. You have the same injector flow as the 1g m/t car that the 14b came from, you have the same fuel pump flow. You have a maf that will not overrun with a 14b. So if anything, you are more prepared for a 14b at stock to mild boost levels than the 1g car from where it came.
BUT, they do creep. You need a real boost gauge, not the computers lucky guess. You need a boost control valve to insure that stock boost is being delivered. Yo should port the opening of the wastegate hole inside the turbine housing and you can port the hole SLIGHTLY larger. You have the 2g 02 housing which is a better designed for creep.
Then, you need to start purchasing the parts that will make it install in your car: j-pipe, coolant lines, oil lines, transition from j-pipe to your intercooler piping. A stock t25 will be MUCH more affordable. But if you want to reach a later goal of up to 300ish whp, the 14b is the most affordable, fastest spooling option.
