That's not a MHI unit though, so I would be really curious about the clearances on that thing.

jusmx is a turbo rebuilder if he says it fits then he has tried it, fortunately for us he experiments on himself before giving info out. He didn't say it worked well just that fits.

If that's just an exhaust side from an ebay 16g, then no it wont fit. They are too small for the mhi units to fit it. I have a spare one in the garage, and I've tried it. Unless they've changed, wont work.

I've already used this housing on more than one MHI turbo, it fits fine.
The things you'll run into will be:
- The placement of the lever for the wastegate flapper will be in a different location because the knockoff turbo came with an adjustable actuator. You'll probably have to shim your MHI wastegate actuator a little to make sure the flapper seals tightly against the housing.
- The locating pin on the knockoff turbine housing will most likely be bigger in diameter than the hole on the MHI center housing. You'll either have to drill the hole in the MHI center housing bigger to accept the knockoff's locating pin, or press the MHI locating pin into the MHI center housing and then center it into the larger hole on the knockoff turbine housing before tightening the v-band.
Aside from that, the turbine wheels between the two are same diameter, the depths where the housings mate are the same, everything about the two are interchangeable. Your MHI v-band will even work.
I'm not sure what timloomis ran into; perhaps I'm just luckier than him and tried all the right housings.

I've actually used them to replace badly cracked 14B housings on customer's turbos in the past. They're cast the same as a ported Evo III housing, so you're upgrading to a ported 7cm2 housing with a 2.5" outlet from the 6cm2 / 2" outlet 14B housing.
They aren't the "high nickel" housings that you'll find on MHI Evo III's; however I haven't seen one with enough use to find if it'll crack just yet.
You'll also want to be sure to open the 22mm wastegate hole on the knockoff housing up a bit to properly control boost:

Must be an older version of it then. The spare 14b I have wont fit into the ebay 16g housing. The turbine wont even fit into the hole.

^^^ same with mine. . . I have a blown ebay knock off 16g. I wanted to us the 7cm^2 housing for a 14b that I have laying around. But I just checked and the turbine wheel doesn't fit. DOWT! This ebay turbo is about 1 year old. . . I'm sure Justin's right about THAT turbine housing. Or all the newer chinese 16g turbos. It's not like does't have his hads on alot of turbos.
