pte57 trim oil question

ok i pikced up a pte57 trim its from what i was told used for about 100miles and its 3-4 years old. it was siting wraped up and all. It looks brand new no shaft play. when the oil feed was installed it was from the filter hosuing not the head. i also have no balance shafts. from what i was told and have found looking around with no balance shafts theres more oil pressure then normal. when the car idel it smokes and i know its the turbo. my real question is anyone else have this problem. is there some kind of fiting or somthing i could put in the line so the pressure is lowered? or somthing of that nature? thanks for the help and input guys

If it is a non ball bearing unit, running your oil from the oil filter housing should not cause the turbo to start smoking; however, excessive oil pressure has been known to cause the symptoms you are describing.

To make you aware, on BB CHRA's, this restrictor is used to limit the oil pressure in the system:

My advice would be to contact PTE (they're actually pretty good with there cst srvc) and see if the turbo you have requires a restrictor or not.
