1g ported O2 outflow a 2g stock O2

Yep.........again i'm pissed because I didn't realize there was a difference between the 1g and 2g O2 housings minus where the O2 sensor is placed

I just spent at least 5 hours porting out the 1g O2 housing. Will a ported 1g housing outflow a stock 2g housing?

Most likely... depends of course on the port job.

However, ported 2G O2 flows more

im sure it would flow plenty, and the o2 sensor placement on the 1g o2 housing is much better. The way the 2g places the o2 it can sometimes make FMIC pipe routing a pain. I've even seen where an o2 sensor rubbed a hole into a lower pipe on my buddy's car.(when he was running a 2g o2)

I've compared the two side by side and couldn't find a real difference on the inside of the casting, where it counts. The only difference was the o2 sensor placement as stated.

I've always heard a 2g o2 housing outflows a 1g but I can't see any proof such as between the exhaust manifolds. I've never run across a cracked 1g o2 housing personally (or heard of one to tell the truth) and would assume the 1g could be ported just as well as a 2g. Even the wastegate passage and transition looked nearly identical, which I thought was the main difference. The o2 sensor placement *looks* to be in a better spot to avoid creating turbulence right at the turbine outlet but thats just a guess.

I wouldn't sweat it. I'll take a look again since I should have access to a 2g o2 housing soon and report back; hopefully with pics and perhaps get it cleared up for good one way or another.

Oh, and a properly ported 1g o2 housing should definitely outflow a stock 2g o2 housing.

How about durability however? Does the 1G o2 housing have tendency to crack like the 1G exhaust manifold?
