Looking 2 get Garrett 50Trim

I am looking to buy a Garrett 50trim, but wondering about the spool on it. What Rpms does it spool at? I need a turbo that will have good spool time but will hold spool all the way past 7000 rpms. Lol. My little t25 isnt doing the job and is killing my gas milage LOL. So i am really looking to upgrade but looking to not spend an arm and a leg. A buddy of mine has a garrett 50trim and manifold and external wastegate all for 850$. Of course it is used but still is that a good price and also is it a good turbo to get to have decent spool time?

A 50 trim is a good turbo. and for 850 for the entire setup you are getting a fair deal on it as long as you know the turbo and waste-gate are in good shape. It will hold boost past 7k all the way to 30psi ( as far as I've personally seen one pushed) They spool around 4200 RPM in third to ~20psi and will hit 30 shortly after. There's not a ton of spool difference in the 50 trim and my 57 trim but i think the 50 trim is better sized for our motors as it performs better and the compressor wheel is still pretty efficient in the higher psi ranges.

You are going to need bigger injectors to max it out and some way to tune to run it period ( unless you just want to limp around and not boost past 5-6psi)

Also, you had better study up on supporting mods and what you're going to need to run this size of turbo, and you need a LOT!!!. You should look into other upgrades first unless you have the money to get the turbo set up and then enough left over for a fuel pump, injectors, and something to tune with. At a very minimum a SAFC or your best bet being DSMlink. If you dont' do these things first, add an engine rebuild to your list of "things to do"

I'm not trying to discourage you, but i looked at your mods in your profile while typing this and you are not ready for a big turbo yet as far as mods are concerned.
 
Turboglenn is correct in saying that you will need more fuel and a way to control it. You should buy that before thinking about getting any turbo. There are also a lot of ball-bearing 50-trims that spool ~20 psi by 3800 rpms. 50-trims are very popular, and there is a lot of info about them floating around on this site.

Yeah true, i am looking at getting dsmlink first then get the fuel pump and then injectors so that the dsmlink can support the bigger injectors and fuel pump.
