Well today while looking at Dragsport magazine I saw that OBX is now selling what looks to be decent turbos. Has anyone run one of these? I checked out there site at WWW.obxracingsports.com and there version of the GT30R BB turbo is only like $800 with a polished compressor cover. Not bad price, but just want to know if anyone has seen these in person and how well they perform. Im doing a budget build right now and looking for some good deals on a big turbo.

I think that rates right up there with ebay turbos.
I wouldnt buy one for my car, but thats just my opinion.
If you want a big turbo at a decent price go look on the trader forums, they can be had there for a little bit more than the obx ones, but you can get a better quality turbo.

Im half tempted to get one and report on here how well it performs. Im working on puting in a built 6 bolt in my 97 GSX, So I can see how well it does before either the stock 7 bolt engine or the turbo blows up.

Defently go ahead & give it a shot, if you want & see how it hods up. Personally I wouldn't run one of their turbos, just based on the fact that all their company does is copy other companies product (& most of the time do a poor job) & do zero of their own R&D. Hopefully their knock off turbos will work better then their knock off Quaife LSD they made for our cars that wouldn't physically install into our cars  If they were super cheep, it wouldn't be so bad to give them a shot but if their ~$800 like mentioned, to me that seems like alot when you can spend a couple hundred more for a real Garrett that you know will perform. But thats just my opinion, you never really know until someone tests it out, so go ahead & give it a shot & let us all know ;)

Well if you going to be replacing the engine. And you don't care about it. Yeah go for it and see how long and hard it can go before it goes.. LOL

yeah thats the only thing they dont list any specs on their turbo's. $800 is quite a bit when your dont know what your truely getting. Probably just a nice looking polished turd

That would be my guess. Like stated above just spend a couple hundred more and get the real thing.
