Just got the car out of the shop from the 14b upgrade, runs great with all my mods and all...one problem though...

The 14b I have on there either has a bad wastegate or my boost controller is setup wrong.

I have the Hallman EVOlution in car kit, and I'm almost positive it's on there right, I may end up trying to do it again because here's whats happening.

The turbo keeps boosting WAY TOO MUCH than I want. I have the knob turned all the way to the left on the controller, but the turbos boosting like 25+ psi, like it's not even on a controller. I really only want 18-20 psi, and I mean, it's not like the car is knocking or anything at 25, I'm only getting like 2 counts of knock, sometimes none, but thats not where the turbo is efficient.

Is this a wastegate problem, or is my boost controller installed wrong? I'm sure the blow off is set right, its wooshing off correctly although the cool "ninja-esque" sound my greddy type s used to have is now gone :notgood: :notgood:

either way, someone please help me fix this boost control problem, because I definately have to get it figured out before I upgrade to a 16g!

Boost controller's backwards. Same thing happened to me with my Perrin MBC before I realized what it was. Instead of the pressure pushing against the ball/spring, the pressure is holding the ball closed.

I'm going to go with everybody else on the improper hook up.

If you need to test the wastegate you can always apply some air pressure to the inlet and see if it opens. If you start at zero psi and work your way up you can be sure it's opening at the right pressure (~10psi).

Run a pressure source straight to the wastegate, if you get 10psi then your wastegate works fine.

Also I'm curious as too how your logging Knock on a 2G?

got it fixed....sorry for the bs...

was t'd into the bov line - i didnt install it that way but i guess the guys at the shop thought it was wrong and switched it...anyway, switched it back, took the t out, everything's fine, got it to 18 psi, holdin strong, no knock

as for how im logging knock canadian - i have the keydiver chip, and had my boost gauge converted to knocksum...it doesnt barely get to the first division which is 7knocksum
