Hey guys,
I just painted this 1g bov and noticed this hole in the top. Is this some kind of drill mod that I'm not aware of to hold more boost?? I tried searching for other mods but didn't find any that described this.

Search for the Dodge Garage mod, but yours doesn't look like that. You drill into the side for that mod I think, not on the top...
 
I guarantee that hole will make the bov release during boost. You now have a BIG boost leak consisting of the valve in the bypass valve. . . AND the hole, as the source for the airflow through the hole and the whole top of the valve is from the intake manifold. Who the he!! did that?

Yep, the hole itself is a boost leak and will cause the BOV to open under boost, much like connecting your MBC to the BOV line. Furthermore, it's a vacuum leak, introducing unmetered/unfiltered air into the system aside, it can also lead to compressor surge depending on the size of the hole, much like connecting a bleeder type mbc to the BOV line.

glhs422, if you run a boost leak test, you'll see exactly what he is saying. But, I'd just take his word for it and enjoy my DSM:thumb: :talon: :dsm: :laser:

Hey not everyday you run into a BOV with a hole on top. :D While we are on the subject, the adjustment rod of an adjustable aftermarket BOVs needs to be tafloned/sealed for the same reason.
