I currently have a greddy profec 2 and it has worked great for me. The car has run up to ~27 psi on an evo3 16g. I will be going with a bigger turbo and setup for the coming year and will be looking to run over 30psi. Aside from needing a boost gauge that reads past 30psi, I was wondering if above about 30psi I should consider a different boost controller.
My current ideas are:
keep my profec 2
get a MBC
get hks evc 5 (supposed to be good up to 36 psi)
I love the profec 2 because of the ease of an EBC and the easy switch for hi/lo boost so i can go between my pump/race gas settings. I know the mbc would be reliable for whatever psi i need, but is it possible my profec can handle boost in the 30-35 psi range?
Im lookin for which would be best, please keep it between just these three choices, I know there are many other ebc's and such. Also experience would be helpful. I dont know what the limit is for the profec, but please dont tell me your guess of it. and as far as the hks being hard to work with, that is no problem either, settings for the profec were hard at first but all the settings make it easy once you understand everything.
