Im in need of a rebuild soon. My question is can I be able to use aftermarket rings (like wiesco,JE,etc.) if there standard size rings on my 1g pistons? I plan on just keeping my 1g big rods and 1g pistons and cleaning them up. Im not going to be boring it out or anything. Any help will be greatly appericated. Thanks :dsm:

I would recommend a stock replacement like Perfect Circle or Mitsubishi. I used Chrome Perfect Circle rings on my 1g rebuilt and they worked great. Stock is the way to go though. They are meant to handle the abuse. If you go with Wiseco though you will have to get a hold of Brian Nutter. I have had to call him before because he recommends different ring gap than the directions say. I can't remember off the top of my head what it is.
