So my mod list is current. What turbo would be good. I am looking for 400hp and would like 12s or high 11s. I am high 12s now but I want more.

Would the bigger turbo be worth the lag? Or would the BB G50 be sweet, get me there pretty easy, and be fun to drive.

Plus what would the spool time be on these turbos.

Or should I just get the non bb g50.

I kinda want headroom ### this Hp thing is too addicting.

I have done alot of research and this new turbo thing is really hard to shop for. But I think I have narrowed it down. SBR is pretty good priced and they are a good company.

Plus I want an internal gate too.

I ordered a PTE 5031 BB from Dejon tool.

He sent me a GT 3076 BB by mistake, It has and internal gate too, and I put it on any way.

I instaled a SBR 1st Gen cast exhaust mani at the same time.

I have run a FP green on the street and It is not anywhere near the GT 30 for spooling responce.

Im running it @ 22 to 24 psi on the street and It runs really well.

I still recomend the 5031 RE BB for most people.

either one of theses turbos I think are great upgrades!

Even though the 60trim sounds like a better turbo, on pump gas and low boost, the 50 trim will be a much more efficient turbo. However, on higher boost and race gas, the 60trim or 60-1 will shine.

How do you like it and what is the spool time on that.

Just wondering do you have a quartermile time or a dyno number or a guess of where you are at.

Is the BB worth it.

Are those questions?

24.5 psi @ 4000 rpm, yes it's worth it, and I ran a 12.7@109 with just an SAFC and rough tune (at 21psi and high EGT's). I'll hopefully be running again soon with DSMLink, a better tune, and stutterbox to chase down some flat 12's.

Thanks for the info I have read your posts in other threads. I have found them quite useful. But I might be looking for a little more. I believe high 12s now with my current mods. I am looking for good solid 11s. After reading other threads I think the G50 will not give me the results I want. I might need something a bit bigger. Right now my weakest link in my system is the turbo.

P.S. why cant I see anyones rep point giver icon.

More then a few guys have run 11's with the evoIII, which compared to alot of other turbo's is pretty small. It all comes down to tune & proper supporting mods. Alot of guys with the "50 trims" just get them because they think their 16g's are too small when they haven't even maxed them out. Then they go out and post times that aren't all that great for that size of a turbo.

My first time out at the track this past fall wasn't ideal conditions for me at all but I just wanted to go atleast once before the winter. My tires were basically bald, Im fwd, was only about 8 deg above freezing so the track was extremely cold (traction was bad enough that the awd cars were launching sideways), was having tuning issues & my dual stage EBC was sent back for repair. Obvioiusly since I wasn't getting any traction at all until 3rd I didn't post great time, high 13's but the mph tells what kind of power your really making. I was trapping 104-106.5 all day long & this was on only 16-18 psi with a crappy tune. The awd cars & the guys with slicks were running high 12's with those traps. Im sure next spring there will be a few more mph when I get everything running properly & the boost turned up to where it should be. With a properly running "50 trim", 11's shouldn't be a big issue.

Is there such a thing as a bb 50 trim that flows as much or more air than a 20g, and that also comes with a mitsu style exhaust side and internal gate, for less than $1000.

This would be a fantastic turbo. I have been doing alot of shopping and have found alot of turbos but not one thats really stuck out much. But I do like what dejon tool has and I am thinking about one of those really hard.

You can get a BB 50 trim for around $1000. The TO4E 50 trim's flow more than a 20g.

So I have decided to go with a sbr G60. Chris at SB was very helpful and I am also in the market for DSMlink and to sell my safc II, Walbro 190, and evo 3 16g, and dsm stage 3 chip. The 60 trim sounds like a sweet turbo that will make 420-450whp. That is good for 11s and hopefully low 11s.
