Im thinking about getting somthing bigger this year, im not a big fan of the 50trim. Ive driven one and wasnt to impressed with it. Im looking for somthing that hits hard, has fast spool, and can still hold its own at highway pulls.

But im on a budget and im in school, so im not building a 600hp car or dumping every penny into it( because you need money for things that can break)

Im picking up a eprom soon and bigger injectors along with a front mount, and a few other things little things. Im on a tight budget, post up would you think is a good step up.

Ive heard that new Ball bearing PTE 50trim is good, but my freind had a PTE go out on him pretty fast.

Long lasting, good drive ability, and somthing that likes to pull at lower boost, and still has enough grunt to still haul ass on high boost topend.

Motor has Weiscos with 9:1 and rods are eagles with HKS 272 cams, arp head, MLS blah blah the useual stuff.

Thanks...Joe

Power goal well over 400whp

Sounds like you want a 3052 or 3065.

Personally I will be going full garrett with my next turbo and am undecided, either a 5031RE or the GT3071/3076 variation (so basically the 3052 or 3065).

Full garret is really nice, but its pretty costly but.............My freind has a T3 adaptor plate for a mitsu manifold to a garret turbo.

FP is still on the pricy side, but from what ive heard is well worth it..

I know most of you don't want to hear this but SSautochrome sells 4G63 Garrett tubular exhaust manifolds w/ wastegate flanges for $149 + shipping. Not to mention their TIAL rip off wastegate's for cheap. I've had a couple products from them and persoanly do not have an issue spending the the $149 on a lifetime warrentied Manny. They make relitivly ok stuff. That makes going full Garrett pretty inexpensive...

My freind has one that is sitting right now, the design of them flow well. I was thinking about using it and braceing the manifold to last longer.

It would be used for a bit, until I have money to buy a nice sexy one.

The ball bearing 50trim does sound pretty good, and its priced nice...

i upgraded to a tdo6 20g and i love it, not too laggy and pulls very nice. but my car needs bodywork badly so its up for sale and back to my little evo 16g:cry:
my next turbo is gonna be a ball bearing 50trim:thumb:

I don't have a 16g YET, but after that, ###### a GT35R or an FP3065.

^^^^

I just got my GT3076 running an hour ago!! I ran out of day light:mad:
Im going to ck for leaks in the AM and hit the F**cking road:D

Ill get some picks. the PTE turbo accepts the stock 14 b heat shields (with very minor mods) and it looks sooo stock!

You lucky lucky man. Enjoy the hell out of that turbo for brute/I, since I sure as hell can't afford it for a long time.

As for full garrett being expensive, it's true. However, if you look at an FP3065 setup, in the end you'll spend nearly the same (since you need their custom O2 housing). I figure the little bit extra to go full garrett is well worth it for the benefits.

That and I found a Turbonetics T3 manifold for 150:D

Im thinking about that Ball bearing 50trim, the EVOIII just doesnt have enough Huff on the topend. Its the best street turbo, nothing can bet the EVOIII.....I just need somthing with close to the same spool, and have the power to keep pulling up top.

how much boost are you running on it?

im not too worried about spool , as long as its spooled before 5k im alright because my rev limiter is 8250 , and cams will probably be purchased the same day as spring and retainer kit and turbo.

If you aren't worried about spool, and don't want a giant price tag, PTE SC61. 20PSI by 4500 in third, 24PSI a hair later, and 51.5lbs/min on pump gas. Stock 7.8:1, BTW.

As far as internal gates go, I strongly suggest anyone looking at larger turbos should go external in order to run "real" boost. My internal gate on my 60-1 blew open at 20-21PSI

Of course but we arent made of money here :D internally gated should keep me happy for a while, if i have a real problem with holding boost ill try shimming the wastegate with a couple of washers if that fails i'll try to get a hold of a cheap external gate and mount it on my 2g manifold somehow. Say if you had an internally gated turbo allready on your car and just added an external to your existing manifold, could you just unplug your pressure source to the internal gate and it will stay closed? and keep from removing the turbo to weld the flapper shut? or could you just hold the flapper arm to where the flapper is shut and weld the flapper arm in place?

On pump 18-22 on race gas 110 25psi, the car moves out very well.

60trim has cross my mind, im still open to different setups etc

My next turbo will either be a fp3575 or a T67.
I woyld really like to get a BB T67 but that is getting pricey.

I'm researching the 20g or varient or possilbly the borg warner s200 or maybe VNT turbo. I'm doing some testing on a small 41mm garrett vnt this winter and will see how it goes.

I was gonna say that my 16g keeps pulling up top but thats compared to the 20psi I run on pump :) I went with a sc61 but I have yet to install it. I am waiting to be able to say that the 16g just wasn't enough :)

Thats what im waiting for also, the car moves out very well and alot of people are impressed with how fast the car is.

Im just research and finding somthing that would fit my needs for the future:talon:
