Quick question because money keeps getting more and more slim...

Alright so I was basically SET on a 16g...regardless of size I wanted one. But because of unforseen bills and whatnot, my money flow just goes out as soon as it comes on. Needless to say I still want a turbo upgrade, and have decided to go with a 14b instead of a 16g. I already have most of the things I need for a good upgrade, my FMIc is on the way, and my 550's came in yesterday. I plan to order a logger and get an SAFC soon. My new manifold will be in the mail soon, and I already have a guy that has a 14b for sale. MY question is...does the 14b bolt right up to the stock 2g manifold? I know, or thought, that the 16g required that the manifold be ported, but the 14b doesnt need that does it? And if I do plan to port the manifold, will I run into problems with the 14b?

the 14b/16g will both bolt right up to a 1g or 2g manifold. the 2g manifold should be ported forf either turbo

porting helps for a quicker spool up and exhaust flow. You should always port the manifold no matter what turbo you run, if possible, port the turbine housing and o2 housing too. Then you could get some insane spool ups.

alright sp im gonna try and get it ported...if I port everything though(since my car is FWD) won't i run into traction problems with such a fast spooling turbo?

it probably wont be that big of a problem, after all its still a 14b. but who wouldnt want a quick spool? also be careful on porting the turbo, because it is used and over 10 years old, it may have cracks in the turbine inlet, I dont know if its incredibly bad to port it, but go take your time if you do it yourself.
