I just bought a GT35R, T3 inlet, 4 bolt outlet. Its has a .82 a/r on the hotside. What will spool up be like? I have a 18.8 spring in the WG and will be running WG spring for a while. The motor is revving to 8500-8750 prms. Just looking to see what other experience others have had with a .82 hot side. I know AMS made 600+ on a .63 on the EVO, if its too laggy I'll sell this hotside and go with a .63, I'd just like to do it before I put it on. My vehicle profile is up to date.

I'm running just about the same turbo on my car and have it set at 18 psi for motor break in and getting used to it and it spools at like 4700 and my car revs to 8200 rpms
What turbo are you running? Is 4700 when your reaching 18 psi. How is boost recovery?

That .68 AMS was running was on a T4 exhaust side not a T3.

AMS uses the .63 5 bolt t3 in all their kits(50 trim, 3076, 37r, etc). Eric who works at AMS ran the t4 hotside on his 35r on his stroker dsm.

I get 18 psi in second gear which seams to be like 4700. I'm running something similar to a 37r. 18 psi is right when this turbo is starting to get happy so with more boost it should come a little earlier since its not spinning hard.

I think he's referring to the fact that Martin maxxed out the gt40 compressor on the 35r using a .63 t3 turbine housing, in which case he'd be right.

I run a BB 62-1 which is just a little smaller than a 35r. As long as you use no lift to shift and run your car up to 8500 or higher I dont see you having a boost recovery issue.
When I used to shift at 8k, I would have some recovery time on the 1-2 shift, now that I run up to 8500, recovery is non-existant, it hits 2nd VERY hard.

In the winter I get full boost @ 4350 and Right now in the dead heat of summer I get 20 Psi right @ 4500rpms and I rev to 8500rpms... This is a GT35R T3 5 bolt .63 A/R Precision hotside going to a 2.5" 5bolt Shearer o2 housing. My 1st to 2nd recovery is crappy but I think thats due to a slipping 2600 that ive had for 2 years... My 2900 is going in this week...

hows the spool with a non-bb gt35? i was thinking of getting that sometime in the future. o ya with a .63 a/r on a 2.0 with stock compression.
thanks

didn't think there was a non bb 35r . but I have a 56trim which I guess would be similar same compressor wheel .63 hot side stage 5 wheel and I'm getting full boost ( 18 psi ) around 4500 rpm on a stock 2g motor

I have an scm61 which is close to a gt35r, Its a non ball bearing 56 trim turbo. It also uses the mitsuiflanged hotside rather then the t3 or t4 hot side. I get full boost (20psi) around ~4500rpm in 3rd gear. I think spool may have went up a tiny bit with the installation of the FP2 cams though. I have a dyno sheet from this past Sunday you can see once I get it scanned in or get the electronic one. My car dyno'd at 313hp with a crappy tune at best. Also this is internally gated. Mods are in my profile. Stock 7bolt with stock unported intake and exhaust manifolds.
