new EVO III ordered, MAFT gen II

Don't know about the stock wastegate.

I recommend FIC 650cc injectors if you want to max out the turbo. You can get away with 550ccs if you don't plan on running high boost.

And let us know how you like the MAFT Gen II. I'm curious. :)

The stock wastegate spring is 10psi.If you have a freeflowing exhaust good luck keeping it under 22psi.Definetely get the 650s they are only 40 bucks for than 550s.

What he is saying, is that the evoIII loves to be at ~20psi or higher. This means that if you have your mbc set at anything below this number and have an upgraded exhaust system, it will creeeeeeeeeeeeep like zoom zoom and you will go OMGCREEPLOL!!!1!!!1!!

And consensus on this forum stands that 770s are overkill for an evoIII, but are of course just fine because you will see lower IDCs. Also good if you have even the slightest idea of getting a bigger turbo in the future. Assuming of course that MAFT can compensate for the larger injectors (someone can chime in here).

So let me get this straight. I bolt a evo III up to my 2g manifold and 2g o2 housing, with a 2.5 dp, and 3 inch this things gona creep to 20psi. WOW

Yes! And I can actually say that from experience, because I have what you do except my cat-back is only 2.5" (Greddy SPII) and my boost hits 12psi, hovers for just a second, and then woooowieewoowww creeep until the cows come home. And it really shoots up there like crazy out of control fast.
 
The new MAFT doesn't have injector compensation, several people have asked Mike, and he commented that the Maft Pro should be used w/ an eprom chipped for specific injectors or some other injector compensation device, or something along those lines.
 
The MAFTg2 has +/-60% compensation. I have been thinking about picking one up for its wideband tracking function. I have DSMlink, so all my fuel compensations done. I really like the idea of "auto pilot" wideband fuel tuning!! Besides that, I've been wanting to vent my BOV :)

Edit Well, scratch that. It's compatibility list doesn't state PLX Widebands devices. Crap..
