i just got the greddy 24v . i got everything all set but i cant get the stock upper connected to the new piping .. the new couplers dont seem to fit and the old one is to small ... any help is appreciated

So you got new hard piping? I assume this was all a kit. The endtanks on that intercooler will differ from those on the stock sidemount, so the stock upper pipe should not work.

How off is the coupler in size? Did you measure it yet?

i didnt measure it but it is off just a tiny bit.... im just gonna have to fab someting up for now until i can get the upper

ill try but i was outside till about 3 last night trying to get it to work ...ill give it another shot .... ill let u know how it turned out

get measuring tape and measure your piping "outside diameters". You can't elbow grease a 2.25 id coupler over a 2.5" o.d. pipe regardless how hard you try.

And further more, how do you KNOW what you really need to do a job till you KNOW everything about the components you are working with?

I have the greddy type 24 fmic. For those who don't know and want to add thier own .02 the kit includes everything needed to replace the stock smic, with piping that leads to the upper i/c pipe. I had already swapped out my upper i/c pipes with the one offered from dejontool before doing the greddy install. However, if i do recall correctly(its been a while) the greddy utilized 2.25" piping as well, and i used the same coupler that i had from the dejontool upgrade to mount the fmic (meaning i don't believe there is a change in diameter). Due to the location of the coupler i do remember it being a big pain in the arse when i did the upper pipe upgrade which i'm sure you are facing right now. BUT I highly doubt greddy sells a "complete" kit that would need additional modification to install, so of all the advice given in this thread i would follow the one who said to give it some good 'ol 'elbow grease" good luck.

Why would you want to retain that plastic crap stock pupe?

Mine was cracked clear in half beside the bov. its goofy shaped to boot!
