Hey all you 50 trim guys. I was wondering if you could post the brand and name of your turbo and inducer/exducer sizes for compressor and turbine sides. I am trying to compare some turbos I may get. I'm also using compressor maps, but I was just wondering if anyone has these sizes.

Any 50 trim will work, just tell me what kind (i.e. PTE, SBR, Turbonetics, Bullseye, etc.). Thanks for any help!

50 trims are easy to tell they are 3.00 bigger diameter, other t04e turbos are 2.95 and the inducer is 2.122. All 50 trim hybrids will have those dimensions, the housing is all thats different.

So all "50 trims" have exactly the same size wheels, it's just the housing (basically just the brand) that's different?

Why do some pay $900 for a 50 trim when they can just get a bullseye or agp 50 trim for like $600 ?

Well the higher priced ones probably have bb center housings in them. And if you price out a 50trim chra plus a bullseye housing it wont be cheap. But yes all 50 trim turbos have that wheel in them that is what makes it a 50 trim or 57 or 60-1 its just the wheel. Then the housing they use is machined to fit that wheel. Then the turbine side can be a mitsu or garrett just depends on the turbo.

I think you may be off on this some. I know there are all kind of trims, mine is only listed as a 53trim, but has a 102mm wheel in it. And I know not many turbos have that wheel in it. Would be nice if it caught a vendor eye so they can elaborate on this.

the trim refers to the wheel. most commonly when someone says xx trim, they are talking about the compressor wheel.

at the middle they have a chart of turbos with different wheels. they list the inducer, exducer, and the trim.

edit: btw those are turbine wheels, so don't come here and say, "I didn't know there was such thing as a 77 trim..."

There is alot more to a turbo than the compressor wheel. . .

Conversly though, I do not know why we pay more for an FP GREEN (50-trim) When the RS49 w/ the t31 turbine wheel is just as good. . .

Nope trim is exactly that the size of the wheel, atleast for garrett wheels. It is calculated by taking the minor dia, divided by major dia, then square that then times 100 so its like this for a 50 trim
(2.122/3.00) squared * 100 = 50.03 so its a 50 trim!

So its like the inducer/exducer squared, Got ya. It just kinda sounded like you was saying they all have the same mm wheel in them. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

If your turbo truelly is a 102mm I am sure its on a mustang or something not your dsm. Thats a t-72 or t-76 pretty much big enough to flow enough for a 5.0L engine not a 2.0 or 2.3.
Is it a garrett wheel?
