How can I get the WGA to open flapper more?

I just finished porting and putting my 14b back together. I pressurized the WGA to see how far the flapper opens. I was bummed to see it only opens about 40*. Whats the sense of porting behind the flapper if it can't open that far anyways(besides getting into the hole for porting)!??!

Is there any way to get the flapper to open more? The only thing I can come up with is to move the pin up the arm a bit to get more articulation out of the WGAs measly 1/2in of travel.
Is there any other mods that might help me??

I was wondering this too. I don't think moving the pin is the answer though because then it will blow open sooner. Mybe one of the upgraded adjustable wastegate actuators they sell for srt4s could be modded to work?

sbr sells adjustable wastegate arms for our cars too...

Just a upgrded arm won't help get more travel without making the wastegate blow open easier. What we need is a actuator that mores more then 1/2 inch

Just to throw in my 5c, Even actuator supplied with AGP turbos has muvh les travel than needed. It only opens the flapper about 40* if not less. I have tried shortening the flapper arm, but that reduces torque produced by the actuator, and any imperfection in the flapper pivot setup makes it stuck open (or closed). I had to eventually switch to external WG, as I've tried many different actuators with no luck.

I guess the ? at this point is: Where can we get an actuator that has more then 1/2 inch of travel? Find me that and I'm set! I'm a machinist so I can fab everything else I need for the setup.....just need something that has more than a 1/2 inch stroke!!
Guess I'll just worry about getting the car back together(forgot how good boost feels....been parked since Nov!!) and hope it doesn't creep. I did a pretty good port job on everything(CNC porting is the bomb:thumb: ....perfect match everytime!!) so I'm hoping I'll be all right.

If you're a machinist, I don't see what's stopping you from fabricating an actuator. It's a very simple setup.

I guess I've never really messed with them. I'll have to look into that. Is it easy to take one apart?

The stock actuator has two halves that are press-folded together. You can take it apart.

THe setup is extremely simple. Upper dome, diaphragm, lower dome. Only upper dome is air-tight. Same idea as BOV.
