I ordered a FP3065 a week or so ago. Then found out about the FP3565..its got same pounds per minute top so not sure what advantage it has..how quick it spools or if should bother maybe changing my order to the 3565. I hear it works good with 2.3 and 2.4 motors and I have a 2.4.
But my car is mostly street car and dont want to get a way worse spool than a FP3065.I want to stay BB also so would not consider the bigger 3575.
I am sure this car will be crazy nuts fast anyway with all the stuff I have going on it.
I did email FP to see whats up with this turbo.
They don't mention it much on their site.
So was wondering if anyone actually is running one yet..

I say wait for their response and discuss with them the goals of the car. They know these turbo's best and will be able to fit you with the most suitable one. Like they say on the website, it's best to call them directly to order this as there are so many options.

I actually have this turbo and it is just a gt3582R with the custom fp exhaust side, well thats what Amber told me when I had called Fp for specs on this. The 3565 is quite a bit more ching than the 3065 which is why they dont advertise it on the site.

Says here on FP's site:

Garrett Ballistic Concepts Racing GT3582R turbocharger. Features 65lb/min anti-surge ported compressor section with 4" inlet and 2.5" outlet. Comes with a .82 A/R T31 4bolt outlet turbine housing. This turbo is similar to our FP3065 turbo, but has a larger GT35 turbine wheel instead of a GT30 turbine wheel, and has a standard T3 turbine housing inlet flange.

So strap on the FP SS Exh housing, machine to the GT35 turbine and voila FP3565, please drive thru ;) :dsm:

But maybe I would love the 3565 more..:D
I have read and read and read on the FP3065 and everyone did seem very impressed with it and I think I do have the right support mods to be able to get some good performance from it.Just always that one a little bit better over the rainbow type deal..

I think within 5 years or so will be time to trade up anyway as figure way technology is progressing we will have turbos like the fp3065 for power with spool up at like 2000 rpm!
But I guess for a few years I can live with the FP3065..;)

There are only a couple people in the world that have almost actually maxed out an fp3065. Curt Brown ran a 9.41 and that was with NO spray. All in all, the 3575 may be a little bit bigger but is not BB and you have to love BB!!!

Umm no they make a FP3565 which is BB and just bit different from the 3065 its still 65 pound not 75 like the 3575. I still think the 3065 will be enough for me.I am getting a bit too crazy already with this car.
I want to do a single or twin setup on my 99 trans am in next year or two. The talon just sort of got a bit out of control with the mods.:D

yes ballbearing is good... i ran the 3575 and a 3065 on my old 2.3 stroker w/ 9:1 comp and fp cam3's setup... in comparison... the 3575 w/ the stroker spooled faster then the stock 2.0, fpRED, and web street grind cams setup and had CRAZY topend... and the 2.3 w/ the 3065.. can we say spooled like a 16g on a 2.0 but topend was MUCH better. just my pennies

Well the 3575 or 3565 might have been a bit better on my 2.4 but think the FP3065 will be just fine.
I like hearing how it spools up like a 16g but that must be an exaggeration as it seems it would hit full by 3800 mabye and start coming on at 3000?
I guess find out myself in a few weeks hopefully.
Car should be running by end of month.

Not so worried about ultimate power out of the talon anymore though since got a twin turbo kit coming for my 99 trans am.
Over 1000rwhp potential on that setup!OMG

I'm not up the camaro scene by anymeans... but, the_jester (on this forum) has a ls-1 suburrban w/ a supercharger and the stock revlimit is around 6000 rpms (we've revved it there several times... It's a pretty impressive truck w/ his magnacharger supercharger and waterinjection equipped even weighing in at over 5500 lbs . . .

Was that question directed at me?
Ls1 stock rev limit is like 6200 but you can easily go to 6500 or 7000 with decent valve springs as only mod. Most guys with agressive cams shift around 6600 to 6800!
So not sure where you got 3000 rpm from. I have ridden in a few turbo f bodies and they were fun.You have monster torque and easy as pie to get 400 or 500 rwhp at low boosts of like 5 to 8psi. Traction is the biggest problem thats why I run nitto drag radials on my v8 fourth gens. They help quite a bit.

With a built 2.4l i wouldnt look at anything but a 3575 personally. Im not sure why your stuck on ball bearing? People love the quicker spool, but the 3575 is extremely good on spool time, and is rebuildable. Dont forget, those BB turbo's arent rebuildable if something bad were to happen.

I think the FP3065 will be a bit more streetable than an 3575.course with a 2.4 either is likley to be not that bad. If I was going for ultimate track power the 3575 would be a contender or the 3565 BB that FP also sells.

I am confident the FP3065 will be a very fun and scary ride and more than enough turbo for me. I would likely have been happy with an FP3052.

Find out in a few weeks it looks like if all goes well.

Scarry ride will be that F-Body once you get it all put together. Nice manifolds for that btw. Love the layout. I know their is next to no room in that engine bay for turbos. It looks like the turbo's will be sitting almost in front of the motor. I had to scrap my supercharged Rod when the gas prices went past 2.50/gal. Sold the supercharger for my talon for gas milage. Ended up with a beast that puts down some serious power and still can get 20 mpg when I can stay out of the turbo.
