Help me please to understand...
Did anybody saw an exhaust manifold from the Evo 3, not an aftermarket ones???

I know one guy who has three Evo 3 engines, and he also has three evo 3 exhaust manifolds (i thought to buy one), i took a look at them and did not understand anything....
Manifolds are exectly similar as 1G from the outside view, but inside it's a little bigger. The inlets of the runners is bigger 52x33 mm (1G has 50x31) and the outlet is 60mm (not sure 1G 57mm).
Inside runners look bigger too...
The guy also told me that this one is made of some kind of magnium alloy, not of cast iron like 1G.

So, can anybody tell me - is that real Evo 3 exhaust manifold??? and is there any sence to change stock one to this one???

May be someone knows the sizes of 2G mani (i'd like to compare it) and of aftermarket evo 3 exh mani??

Thanks

This really belongs to a newbie section but ..

Evo III exhaust manifold is shaped just like 1G, which in turn, is just like 2G mani, with very suddle external differences.

EvoIII manifold has bigger collector (and bigger is better in this case) and bigger runners, which basically saves you hours of porting to bring your 1G manifold to the same specs.

Finally, the main advantage of evoIII manifold, is that it has higher nikel (I think it's nikel, I'm not metallurgist) content, and does not crack as easy as 1G manifold. If you're still running stock 1G manifold, I guarantee that it's cracked.

So yeah. It's a good upgrade and worth the money (depending how much of course)

Yes, yes, yes! And so dues te evo3 16g turbine housing have the same nickel content... It is good stuff. No creacing. It is built for performance and then made reliable for the WRC races. I love my EVO3 mani like I love my wife [God don't let her read this]. No cracks, no matter what. and great flow!!!

if there is a crack on the inside airflow devider is that very bad? will it become bigger? (it should not crack at all??)

Crack in the divider isn't harmful by itself, but it does indicate that manifold is, well, cracked, and probably in more then one place.
