High whisle sound under boost

Ok here is the systems--Under boost I am hearing a very load wistling sound. I know the first reaction is bad turbo. I Swapped out my 16g for a known good 14b and it is still making the same symptoms. The car sounds fine at high RPMs with no boost/under idle. I connected the wastgate hose to the Jpipe to bypass my profect B and no improvement. I did a boost leak test and I heard no leaks, but the boost gauge never moved(should it?)--Does anyone know what I need to check next--This is for a GalantVR4

My guess is that its the turbo spooling which is natural my friend.

You probably have a boost leak or your biss screw is backed out too far. Just look around, cause unless you have a large turbo, you shouldnt hear it really at idle

I sounds fine at idle. I can rev it up all I want and still sounds fine. Only time it makes the noise is under load.

Well then its either just your turbo spooling or you have a pinhole boost leak. Do a boost leak test, if that turns out good, its just your turbo

If your talking about the normal spool sound of a turbo its not that because I also own a 92 GSX and it doesn't make this sound. Its i really high pitch whining sound and gets louder as i push it harder.

When you do a boost leak test will the boost gauge go up and hold boost? I did a boost leak on it before... I can hear air going in but the boost gauge did not move one bit.

Yes it should move, if it doesn't you have major boost leaks inclding but definitely not limited to the boost gauge.

Well damn, you have a pretty good leak then. It should hold pressure, obviously if your boosting its gotta hold pressure. You might have a rip in a coupler or something, thats exactly what my car was doing a while ago. Is your car running rich or pulling like it should at your set boost level?
When you do a leak test, have someone watch your boost gauge, or attach a gauge to one of the vaccum lines on your throttlebody so you can look yourself, the push as much air in as fast as you can to hear where its leakin from and to watch your boost gauge. Does this whining sound resemble a kazoo...., i know, but thats what ripped rubber sounds like .

Thanks for all of the input--I did a another boost leak test with different compressor and found that I had two major leaks on both sides of the throttle body. I have new gaskets on it so I m not sure why but at least I know where the problem is

Throttle body shaft seals....YOU JUST pointed it out...
