Well, I finally got a chance to sit down and upload the pics to my computer. I recently installed a cast t4 mani form Rev hard and a little turbo I bought from Ecoli. I am sure most have read the horror stories saying you will never get a decent down pipe to fit so I decided to post the pics of the one I had made.
Here is a close up of the difficult first bend

THe manifold came with a dump tube to remote mount the wastegate, but the way we tried to install it, it placed the wastegate directly where my 3.5" dejon intake is. So we made a new one that placed it over by the power steering pump

The limited time I got to drive the car it was defiantely loud and laggy. My exhaust now terminates at the end of the down pipe so there is nothing there to quiet it down. The car sounded like a big dump truck just cruising through a parking lot or away from a light. I was seeing WG pressure by ~5700 rpm which is 21 psi. Why was the driving time limited? The turbo locked up after the first 30-40 miles. Yes new lines were used and yes they were from the correct port on the filter housing. This is my third precision turbo (scm50, scm61 and now PT67) and all have been run from this port and all still run fine, except for this one. The turbo is under warranty so it is in a box ready to be shipped back to precision. Hopefully I won't have any issues getting it covered. Shane (Ecoli) was nice enough to talk to precision for me and get everything set up for me to ship it to them. Thanks again Shane.
Hopefully precision will be able to get it back to me soon so I can hit the dyno and see if I picked up any power fro all this hoopla. Don't worry about the lag either. My 2.4 will be done here shortly yo help fix some of that.

20 psi by 5700 on a 750 WHP capable turbo ain't that bad in my opinion, and it's just gonna get better with the 2.4 :D

If for some reason it is not going to be covered, I may see how much it would be to fit one of the new BB CHRAs with the 67 wheel. I can't see why it wouldn't be covered though.

It won't be covered because you need to get the stroker....now

whatup nate ;)

What up poon! How's the car running? I am surprised you didn't mention my feet in the pic!, LOL

I almost did mention your foot. This makes 3 for 3 pics where you show your feet. Seems like you have a complex ROFL

Anyway, car is running shitty, major boost leaks. My MBC screw fell off so I'm running a MAX of 10psi until it comes in the mail. Also running REALLY rich, black smoke. I think this along with some boost leaks is causing the 11-12mpg and the smoking. DSMLink still shows 10.5ish 02's under WOT. I'll be in town next weekend, hopefully Cody can put on the ACT 2100, and we can tackle the boost leak and fuel issues. I have NO time right now, A&M is owning me.

On the way to school today, my roommate said he saw blue smoke during a cold accel, not under boost. Sounds like valve seals to me :notgood:

Sucks about the turbo, I really wanted to see it go. Hopefully I'll see ya this weekend. Good luck with the new turbo.

i like how you think :thumb: how is the placement of the turbo with the new manifold? does it take up abolut the same amount of room as the stock style setup? i ask because ive thought about this but i have limited room on my rwd project.

In a rwd app I guess it would move the tubo towards the front of the car a few inches. I think it wouls also push it towards the paanger fender a little, only an inch or so though.

On the BB chra, I have already talked with a few people that can do it. One of the CHRAs that Garrett released is a 60-1/P-trim, so they would justy have to throw on my 67 wheel :)

any way you could get a measurement from the head to the end of the manifold?

I am sure I could measure the manifold. Would that suffice? It is just sitting on teh garage floor all lonely :(

ah shit. i thought you had it on the car. i guess that wouldnt make that big a difference. if you could measure it that would be great. thanks in advance.

Im getting the PT67 anyway but what places can all put the BB CHRAs on this turbo? AND what would the price be? Thanks

Justin

Just wanted to give a little update. I purchased my 2g Magnus and got it bolted on for the time being. The top end is kinda silly now and flow is up to 45 lb/min at 22 psi (90+ deg intake temps). I wonder what it will flow with cooler intake temps and more boost :D

What was the flow rate before the Magnus?

It was around 42 lb/min at the same boost. I tried to do some logs tonight since it got cold all of a sudden, but rubber coupler on my compressor outlet split in two. Hoping to dyno on Friday if the new coupler comes in :D
