So I did the BCS mod and the car now pulls great, it is running at about 17 psi. One problem though is that it once in a while make s sharp whisteling sound while spooling at higher boost. though it could be a leak so i tested it and found no leak. any ideas of what it could be? perahaps bov?

Please say that you are not running 17psi on the stock T25 turbo, and that you have an aftermarket boost gauge/Blow off valve(or 1g bov). The stock turbo looses it's efficiency after 15psi and if you're still using the stock boost gauge, you could be boosting more than 17psi. The stock 2g bov leaks around 12 psi. If you haven't done so already, get rid of the stock bov for an aftermarket piece(or 1g), buy a real boost gauge and a boost controller.

Oh, the bov is probably the culprit.

I do have a greddy type s bov, i also do have an aftermarket boost gauge, and it is a stock turbo. so the leak is not the bov and it is not runnign past 17 psi

Hmm, try turning the boost down to 15psi atleast and see what happens. Is it a siren sound or a whistle?

You have a boost leak, very small.
well how do i find it, i pressurized the ic piping to 17-18 psi and i heard no air leaking, only a little out of my homemade test kit and near the throttle body which i am pretty sure is normal.

i guess it is more of a siren sound

it's kind of a jet engine sound right?

check for lateral shaft play.

start looking for a turbo.

How can i check for shaft play. And if i do have shaft play how long do i have.

depends.

Mine spiked at near 20 on spoolup and fell to 16 psi, then fell again at 5k to 11 psi.

RRE 2.5-> 3" DP, 3" cat and 3" apex'i catback, greddy type s and full hard pipes. WIth out hte cat it probably Would have run at 17 briefly.

Put the restrictor back in and bring the boost back to around 15.

I have the same problem with my 97 GSX T25. People keep asking me if I have a supercharger. Had the local shop look at it and the guy said "I'm sorry, but youre turbo is pretty much shot, but at the same time, congratulations :D " Good excuse for a 16g I'd say. I have an injen intake so you can imagine what this sounds like, I can hear it echoing when I pass through trees along the road and on 4 lane roads cars alongside of me roll up their windows.

Same thing happened to me after the bcs removal, To me it sounds like turbo spooling
more psi . And it gives more power and not opposite so I dont think if it is a leak.
I got the same mods as XxRusianxX ,boost gauge on the way with controller :thumb:
