Ok i just finished installing the EVO3 GT turbo on my 2gen. I noticed when putting on the oil return hose that came with the 2gen install kit (the hose that goes from the bottom of the turbo to the oil pan) that well, the hose sucked. It was too short by about an inch, so it kinked a little bit.

But then i took it out for a test drive... and it was spewing oil out of both the fittings. I don't understand because i have the gaskets it came with on there, and the flanges are tightened very well. Has anyone else had this problem whether installing the EVO3 16g or EVO3 GT on their 2gen? If so, how did you get around this problem?

P.S.- Im pretty sure this is an install kit or both EVO3 16g and EVO3 GT, so I don't want to hear any "you get what you pay for" or "EVO3 GT's suck" I did my research. :thumb:

is it a hard line or rubber fitting that is kinked? if it is just a rubber fitting go to an autp parts store and get some fuel pressure hose and readjust it. if i confuse you its because im slightly confused as well.

you get what you pay for, evo3 gt's suck, you should have searched.. I'm sorry i know it doesnt help but its true. It's been known that evo3 fake's have problems fitting, especially with the return line. Best thing to do is cut the drain line and connect some high temp-oil hose inbetween to connect the two.

Do you personally have experience with this turbo and install kit if not then I suggest you keep your thoughts and opions to yourself.

Reading is fun, so lets give it a shot. See what he said he doesnt want to here about how bad the turbo is he just wants an answer. Also, what is YOUR experiance with this turbo? It must be quite abit becasue you seem to know so much about it. Please fill us in on how many you have used and what the outcome was. If you havent used any them you shoudnt be commenting on it at all let alone bashing it and not helping one bit.

As for the original question. I would call them and ask if they have had this problem before or if they will send you a new one. If it were me I would probabl make one myself, or you could even go to the dealer and just get a return for a 1G. Most dealers will give a discount for DSM's but I would check before buying.

Well I think Burnett might think twice about blabbing again. I have given him a negative rep for this thread which demoted him to rookie and he can't post in this forum anymore. I have a nasty PM from him now in my box :sosad:

Ok, thanks for the help guys. I replaced the gaskets for the crappy hose the kit came with and the leak stopped. I think it'll work for now. And thanks for keepin order in the post Wiseman.

Also, just to help anyone who is considering getting a GT I would like to clearify something. Just so no one is confused by certain things said in this post. I have experience with this turbo (I havn't driven it much) but as far as the install goes, The EVO3 GT went in fine, everything fit like a dream and lined up perfectly. The only thing is the 2nd Gen install kit i got seperatly had a crappy oil return hose. Other than that Ill make a post later after putting a few miles on it. This way people can get some info from someone whos actually has this turbo.
