what is under my hood???

i was pointed out today that it looks like i might have a 14b on my 2g. the things is i bought this car off an eldelry gentelman a while back. i figured it was the stock t25 setup and since i havent met too many turbo eclipse owners i never could compare. today while looking under the hood of a 96 gst i noticed a difference. seems my turbo is rotated a bit and has the jpipe coming out of it. i took a quick pic of it and was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. have i been rolling around with something other than the t25?
p.s. when the guy sold it to me he gave me a paid invoice from extreme motorsports. a 16g center cartridge was installed according to the sheet. if you guys need more pics to be posted just specify which area and ill try to get them up asap.

Deffinitly a tdo5 housing, try to get some pics of the serial numbers on it and the compressor wheel.

it does say tdo5h on it. the only other numbers i was able to pick of the turbo were on the outside and were like this

top line: S 020613034
line below: 49178-0

i dont know if these help any but those 2 lines and the tdo5h were all i could find by lifting my hood up. any one know what this is?

damn you guys are good. just took a look at it again. theres 520 etched in after the 0 and then another 0 thats potruding. hope this can complete the puzzle

sweet thats a hell of a free mod. thanks for all the help everyone.... now i gotta sell a t28 and the small 16g and move on up. this is like christmas. thanks again for everything. im just wondering where did you find this info so that in case something like this ever happens again i dont have to bother the forums with it.

I just use the search button when i have questions to things, and i bookmark all the good threads in a separate links folder (rename the link something useful though). When I have searched and can't find anything that helps, then i ask. So search first (and be honest! trying once and scrolling down the first page of hits does not count) and you will be greatly rewarded.

Well if it is from us, forced performance, RX4Speed, Road Race etc, any of
the reputable turbo guys, the last 3 or 4 digits on the compressor cover
will tell you exactly.

If the last 3 or 4 digits are

420 - Big 16G

520 - Small 16G

1470 - Evo III 16G

The difference between the big and small 16's has to do with the compressor wheel size (small spools a bit faster, but the big has a bit more top end). The EVO III is based on the big 16G design but flows considerably more air through other design improvements. Visually, they're all stuffed in a TD05 housing so the best way to tell is by referencing the serial numbers on the intake side of the compressor housing.

congrats on the find. a small 16G is an underdog turbo and will make you for a while until you get supporting mods and go bigger
