Ok I have done my reading and asked my questions.
I have decided that I want an MHI Evo 3 16g.
Now my problem is I dont know where to shop.

I have been to:
Forced Performance
The Speed Factor
Slowboy Racing

The problems I have so far are,
Forced performance didnt say it was a MHI turbo
The Speed Factor wanted me to use Paypal and I cant do that right now.
Slowboy Racing I am not sure if they take something other than Paypal
and I was looking at porting but it seemed kind of high compared to others.

I am not saying anything bad about any of these vendors and especially about slowboy
I am NOT saying they are high.I am new to this and am just looking at the prices I see
and comparing them that way.

Anyway where would be other GOOD places to look for this turbo.
I need a good price, customer service, and able to take something other than Paypal.

One last question, is porting a good thing to have done when buying a turbo.
Or should I wait and get it done later.
Do I want to have both the inlet and outlet done?

All replies will be welcome and appreciated.

THANKS

i believe ExtremePSI sells MHI evo16g's.

call FP and SBR and ask. take you 2 minutes.

RRE www.roadraceengineering.com sells both. Evo3 turbos are known for their boost creep, get everything ported. If you can't afford to get it done professionally, look around here, many people have done it themselves. :thumb:

Forced Performance sells the real Evo III 16G. Mine is from them. In fact, they are a direct MHI dealer.

OMG Since when? :D

Really can't go wrong with ^. Nicest guys to talk to and they answer all my questions. Although I think they might be getting irritated with me. Always talking to them online and I still haven't made a turbo decision. :D

If you are looking for an Evo III 16G, there is no better place to buy it than Extreme PSI. I bought mine for $715 including the 2G install kit. There Install kit is $100 cheaper than many other vendors and also they have free shipping. So basically your saving atleast $150 compared to other vendors. There install kit is the best yet, great quality, and the installation is very simple. Also, there shipping can not be beaten. I dont care who else has the evo III, none of there shipping is even close to fast as Extreme PSI.

Extreme PSI A++++++++++++++

Hope this helped

Yeah well ^ has free shipping as well. It also helps when the vendor your buying from is closer to you then everyone else. Extreme is located in PA and your in Virginia. :thumb:

^ That is saying nothing bad about ExtremePsi as they do have super quick shipping. Fuel pump, ordered Wednesday, recieved it Friday. I can't comment on customer service because I didn't really talk to anyone there, or have a need to.

yes it does help, but how many vendors provide a tracking number within an hour of order?? How many provide immediate responses and even leave you voice messages? Ive ordered parts from all of the vendors mentioned, while there quality of the product and shipping was reasonable, it still doesnt compare to Extreme PSI. SBR is in PA as well, and it took me a week just to get a BOV. Im just trying to help the guy save some money, the install kit price and quality, and free shipping, is one of the biggest reasons to go with extreme psi over any other vendors.

From all the vendors mentioned, i dont think you can go wrong with any one of these as far as the quality of the turbo itself.

There customer service is top notch. All of my questions were fully answered and they took there time to conversate with me and give me some suggestions. So far ive ordered my fuel pump, injectors, gaskets, a turbo XS H34 BOV (after my SBR took a shit), and a few other parts. My products have arrived within 1-2 days of order. I ordered one part Monday 1 AM and it arrived Tuesday 11 am. I will definitely give these guys my top priority, they deserve every bit of credit.

slowboy threw my evo 16g in a box with basically no padding/cushion whatsoever, wasn't too happy about that. it felt like the turbo was going to fall through the bottom of the box. i was warned, but about two hours too late.

Gotta love SBR ;)

You hear both good and bad things about them but every one of my friends who has ordered from them has nothing good to say.

Thats why I only buy stuff from ExtremePsi, Road Race Engineering and Buschur Racing. I'd mostlikely buy from Switzer too but I havent needed anything he sells yet. Although I'm thinking about picking up a COP and one of his AFPR's very soon.
