heres my 1g sitting pissed in my drive and having to use my parents camero to drive to work.i washed it at least since my precision turbo took a shit on me last week after about 900 miles.im 31 and have to borrow my dads car to drive to work but im looking into a different 50 trim to go with besides the scm 50.theres so many choices and the rs49t turbonetics looks to be the choice so far but any opinions are welcome that have lasted.while it sits im putting on a new oil pump and timing belt also and looking around for anything else that might need replacing.

I wouldn't be a happy camper if I were you, i'd make sure PTE warranty's your turbo.. that would be highway robbery if they don't.

PLEASE post back your dealings with them. I just bought a SBR G50 [diff. vendor] turbo and it's actually in the middle of beign installed right now. goodluck :thumb:


p.s., that FMIC is small OMG LOL! mine is at least 50 x 30 x 6 :D

Good luck with the new turbo, Hopefully you don't install it and it breaks in a month or two. It's just a pain to keep taking almost brand new turbo's off, Because of them breaking
 
Im gonna take a wild guess here but did they blame the turbo failure on "oil contamination" ??
 
Same here 50 trim PTE turbo always turbo timed about 5000 miles here and went down. At first our distributer in canada refused it so the shop I got it from called PTE direct and they said no problem send it back for warrany so Im good to go to. At least they are looking after us but it sucks I was told no car for 4 weeks.
 
My first PTE 50 trim lasted about 1700 miles and was rebuilt under warranty, now it has about 900 more and its due again cause its got a good amount of shaft play. From what I understand they will only cover it under warranty once, so when the time comes I'll be looking elsewhere.
